This project was especially meaningful to our team.

At Our Lady of Częstochowa Church in Worcester, Massachusetts, we had the privilege of overseeing the restoration of the sanctuary apse mural, long obscured by darkened varnish and decorative stenciling.

Today, the mural once again reveals its original theological vision: Christ enthroned in glory above, the Four Evangelists proclaiming the Gospel, angels gathered in adoration around the Eucharist, and below them scenes of pilgrimage, labor, and daily life that reflect the faith of Worcester's Polish Catholic community.

Through careful cleaning and selective inpainting, the relationships between the figures became clear once more. Christ again stands visibly above the scene, the Evangelists can be distinguished in their witness, and the Eucharistic center draws the eye of the faithful toward the Eucharist.

These before-and-after images demonstrate how sacred art conservation, thoughtful stewardship, and liturgical design can reveal the story of salvation unfolding for the faithful in the nave.
