YES I will be putting out my fall tea towels, drinking the pumpkin coffee and lighting the candles, thank you very much 😅🍁 it’s also 90 degrees here but that’s entirely besides the point 🫠 decorate for the weather you want, not the weather you have 😂

The perfect China hutch, a spiral staircase and a set of dishes….

Sharing another one of my antiquing tales 🫶

And this has to be one of my all-time favorite Facebook marketplace finds. There was no other piece of furniture in the house like this - I can’t even remember why or how the owner had it…I recall they said it belonged to their mom and they were using it as their desk? They were moving across the country in a matter of days and had to have it gone. Either way, it is so loved and appreciated now and I can’t imagine my parents’ house without it!

The lesson - nothing is impossible for the right piece of home decor 😅

Sometimes I’ll get comments on my posts along the lines of “my kids don’t want my collections”. Not every collection will be wanted by the next generation…and maybe that’s okay.

Because somewhere out there is someone who will see its value, love its story, and be genuinely excited to give it a home 💙 Like when I stumbled upon this entire set of Mottahedeh “Blue Canton” on Facebook marketplace. When I went to pick it up, the daughter of the collector said nobody in the family liked how it looked or wanted it. It wasn’t their style. She said their dad bought their mom a piece from the collection every year for their anniversary. It was a set I had literally been dreaming about! I couldn’t wait to love, display and use this wonderful collection. I felt a connection to the person who so lovingly kept these special pieces for all those years.

And you know what? Maybe that’s just as good as handing it down to family. Maybe being cherished is the real legacy 🫶
