What began several years ago as a simple birthday cake for a co-worker, evolved into one woman's passion for creating edible works of art, and became Couture Confections. Armed with a degree in interior design, a background in retail design and a ferocious sweet
tooth, owner and designer Shelia Lundgren Barbosa initially started Couture Confections to keep up with a growing number of “word-of-mouth” requests for creative and unique occasion cakes. In 2007, she expanded to include a full line of favor cookies, and these handmade, delectable little masterpieces quickly became popular. They are now the business’s most ordered product. They make perfect party favors, and are also great as unique birthday, anniversary or corporate gifts. In addition to creating cakes and cookies for every imaginable occasion, Couture Confections has also designed and crafted cookies for local events such as: Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key to the Cure, The Miami International Boat Show, and the Miami Symphony’s 20th Anniversary Gala. Couture Confections prides itself not only on the artistic quality of their products, but even more so on the quality ingredients that are used to make their baked goods. Only the finest vanilla, pure butter, fresh eggs, flour and sugar are used to mix up the delicious treats that leave their kitchen.
