Out of the stove shop today. I gathered my bees from Tyngsboro and relocated them to their new hive at home. I am optimistic about the hive's prospects and expect it to generate enough honey for both my family's consumption and the bees' survival during winter.

The magic of maple weekend is in the air here in New England, a season of joy and togetherness. Most of my sap was transformed into liquid gold in my shop, thanks to the warmth of the antique stove. Every moment spent by the woodstove is not that difficult. Completing my first batch of maple syrup is a triumph. The grandkids can't wait to taste the fruits of grandpa's labor. Just makes me smile.

That time of year is here again, and things are off to a great start. We are utilizing the old stove in the shop to boil the sap. Generally, it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. This can vary depending on the sugar content of the sap. It's hard work, but the rewards are sweet. Usually I produce enough to keep the grandchildren happy for the year.😂
