I found some great things today but nothing can really compare to the breathtaking views I encountered during my ride. Beautiful morning! Chazy lake NY. A crisp 41 degrees with clear blue skies and gorgeous Autumn foliage. 🤎🍂🧡🍁

Some advice to fellow sellers. Check your spelling... Was randomly showing stuff and couldn't understand why I couldn't pull this item up. Apparently it was spelled wrong🤷🏻‍♀️😁. Made for a good laugh and if you know me, I rolled with it. Someone got a steal of a deal😆

When people ask where you are from and you say NY, the majority immediately think NYC. But the part of NY I am from is about 359 miles north. Nestled close to the Canadian border. Specifically I grew up in a town/hamlet called Mooers (population about 3500). Pictured below is the main street. We lived a couple miles from main street on a small dairy farm in the 80s. Every labor Day weekend I bring my kids (now grandkids) to my Uncle Jacks house where we set up our chairs along the roadside and watch the annual parade, while my father and Uncle Jack sit on the porch. Still makes me smile when local farmers, businessmen, and people running for the local offices look at the porch while passing by in the parade and smile big while offering up a wise crack or happy greeting when they see the two of them. A small parade adorned with mostly tractors, side by sides, and fire trucks but also those familiar faces and names. My older grandson shrieking gleefully as we hustle to gather candy thrown, rushing to give his papa a piece of candy and running back to wave and get some more and of course the baby that sleeps through it all🩵. These are moments I enjoy and treasure. Although I love visiting the city, I will always be a small town girl. 🫎💜

This is a lot of Crewels, cross stitch, and an oil and water painting I picked up this morning from one of the auction houses I frequent. This type of art always strikes up sentimental nostalgia for me. I'm always amazed by what people can do with a needle and thread. My paternal grandmother crocheted scarves, socks and dishcloths. At her funeral, her grandchildren all wore one of the scarves she made.
My maternal grandmother made us Easter outfits, crafted beautiful Afghans, quilts, and our favorite the quillow (a small quilted blanket with a pocket that you fold into a pillow). My mother taught us to cross stitch and has made amazing embroidered linens over the years. My children and grandchildren have beautiful pieces. Those pieces I treasure and am excited to pass their stories through the generations of my family, as they were passed to me.
I pick these up a lot. Like as much as I can when I come across them. Someone dedicated a lot of time and I imagine had someone in mind to do it for. I receive them sometimes dusty and the frames rough as though they had been kept in a corner somewhere for ages, just waiting for someone to come along and appreciate them again.
I can't wait to dust them off, give them a spotlight and help them find new homes.
Come along and check out the shop. At the moment, I am doing a show every Wednesday at 7pm EST.
