Project Reveal: Hanson Drive Kitchen

Walking into this Pleasanton home, the old layout screamed 1990s constraints: a tiny kitchen for one, a separate eating nook, a cramped family room—all chopped up by dropped soffits that darkened the space and wasted precious square footage. For parents and their two teenage boys, it meant chaos at mealtime and no room to gather. The goal was clear: fuse these zones into one bright, hardworking heart of the home where cooking, eating, homework, and family time could flow effortlessly.

Our Castlewood Views project marks a fresh chapter for a Pleasanton couple—empty-nesters, who purchased a new home with spectacular golf course views. With their children now grown but visiting often, they asked us to update the house from top to bottom—improving function, light, and flow—while creating an inviting place to entertain friends and welcome family home.

My favorite childhood memories revolve around our big family holidays. Grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles all under the same festive roof. As a child, there's only the magic of it all! Everything perfectly planned and executed to create another successful holiday gathering.
