As the Principal of Ridgecrest Designs, Henry Batteate has had the opportunity to touch the hearts and minds of many people through the creation of amazing environments. Known for his clean design style and mechanical knowledge of how to combine and engineer every aspect of a project from small detail to large architectural elements, Henry leaves nothing unfinished. Though he began building construction projects years earlier, his construction business grew rapidly from 2003-2010. It was around this time Henry realized and developed his gift for design and his construction business grew into design build. From 2010-2016, he honed and sharpened his design skills and started Ridgecrest Designs where he now works alongside Julienne Barrett and Emma Piccillo to create amazing designs.

Sunol Homestead, from bare framing to finished home.

Every phase of this build in one place: framing on the hillside, plumbing and windows, stone and siding, cabinetry, a white oak stair, and the finished kitchen and laundry. One team designing and building the whole way through.

Everybody needs an elevator. Don't they?

Delivery day on one of our current projects. The elevator came off the truck, went down the shaft, and was set into its final position, exactly where the plans called for it.

A home elevator is planned long before it arrives, from the shaft framing to the power to every landing it serves. That is what design build looks like.

Sometimes you have to trust the process.

It can be hard to imagine the finished home when massive reclaimed trusses are being craned into place, walls are still open, and everything feels like a work in progress.

But those are some of our favorite moments… the ones where the vision starts becoming real.

Every beam, material, finish, and detail has a purpose long before the home looks “finished.” Watching all of those individual pieces come together is what makes the process so rewarding.

From construction site to custom home… trust the process. 🤍

It’s all in the details. ✨

The fluted texture of a custom vanity, the way a tile carries through a space, the contrast of steel against softer finishes… these are the moments that give a home depth, character, and a sense that every inch was considered.

We believe the smallest details can make the biggest impact. It’s not about adding more, it’s about choosing the right materials, textures, and custom elements and bringing them together in a way that feels intentional.

This Pleasanton custom home is full of those moments, and we’re proud to see the craftsmanship behind them recognized in California Home + Design Magazine.

Every custom home starts the same way… with a conversation.

Not about square footage or finishes, but about how you want to live. The quiet mornings, the family dinners, the spaces where your kids will grow up, and the little details that make a house truly feel like home.

This Pleasanton home was designed around the people who live in it, and that’s what makes every project unique.

If you’ve been dreaming about building a home that’s thoughtfully designed just for you, we’d love to help bring that vision to life.
