A Family Cabin, Reimagined for the Next Generation

After more than a century on the same lake, this family property carried plenty of history. In collaboration with North Arrow Architecture and Nor-Son Custom Builders, we carefully considered what to preserve and what to change. The goal was to make the home feel lighter, more connected to its surroundings and better suited to the way the family uses it today.

In our latest video, we tackled the question of carpet or hardwood in bedrooms and wanted to share a recent example of carpeting in bedrooms.

For this Wisconsin cabin, the homeowners preferred carpet, so we leaned into it with a darling plaid in several colorways throughout the bedrooms. In the bunkroom, we went even more playful with a colorful striped carpet.

A good reminder that carpet can still bring plenty of personality to a space.

Before summer comes to an end and the kids head back to school (sorry if you're still in denial 😅), we're celebrating the kids' spaces that make lake homes so much fun.

This upper level features a bunk room, loft, and bathrooms, with plenty of space for visiting cousins and friends, sleepovers, late-night conversations, and all the fun that comes with a full house.
