On this Thanksgiving Eve, I am feeling very grateful… mostly because I’m not hosting this year 🤪 and therefore did not have to clean my house for company.
My broccoli casserole and cranberry–jalapeño dip are lined up for tomorrow, and I’m fully planning to recruit Jeff’s knife skills for the chopping. 🥴🤞
And even more shocking… I demonstrated enormous self-restraint by not baking and decorating another batch of mind-blown emoji cookies today. (Truly… growth 😅🫠)
Instead, I finally followed a little idea that’s been circling in my brain for weeks:
How do I support the moms who WANT the cute handprint keepsakes…
but have kids who are allergic to paint, chaos, wet wipes, or just… life?
Or the moms whose sport schedules, stars, planets, and personal capacity almost NEVER align? 🤪🌪️
So today, I sat down to figure out a paint-free, sensory-friendly option…
and oh man.
It turned out even better than I imagined — once I worked through a few logistics and gently removed my overly involved cat-istants from the canvases. 😹
(There may or may not be cat hair embedded in the tree or wreath… consider it extra love.)
Swipe to see both versions — the 🎄 tree and the 🌿 wreath — and tell me which you like best.
I usually add a little phrase to the canvas, and here are the top contenders I’m considering:
Tree:
• “Rooted in love.”
• “Rooted in love, reaching for joy.”
Wreath:
• “Season of love.”
• “Where love gathers, there is light.”
What do you think?
Which one are you drawn to? 🤗🎄
Now back to pretending I have fully prepped for Thanksgiving tomorrow… 😅
