This painting by Marie Laurencin, entitled "Mother and Child," would make the PERFECT gift! This piece tells a story, "Born out of wedlock, Marie Laurencin's Creole mother ensured that Marie would have a middle class education. She, however, chose to devote herself to art and enrolled in the Ecole de Manufacture de Śevres, where she would learn to paint on porcelain. She later continued and eventually finished her formal art education at the Academies Humbert.
