Flower Shop located in Port Chester, NY is looking to hire an outside sales representative to visit local businesses with roses and our promotional material.

In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, a passion for technology, and the ability to effectively communicate product benefits to potential customers.

This would be a once or twice per week part time job that would be good for a person that has some free time and is available during the week like a retiree or stay at home mom while kids are in school, etc. The work hours are flexible.

The job entails seeking out new clients for the flower shop by visiting businesses, offices, catering and event venues and other associated businesses to increase our visibility in the area and to make new contacts.

You would be providing our business information, promotional material and flowers to clients you visit.

Part Time Flower Shop Help Wanted (Port Chester)

Flower Shop located in Port Chester, NY has an opening for part-time General Customer Service and Flower Shop Helpers.
Available hours are on every Monday and Tuesday (full or part of the days), Saturday afternoon and possibly about 4 hours on Sunday. You can apply for any or all of the available days depending upon your availability.

What’s wrong with supermarket flowers?
Walk into practically any supermarket and you’ll come across a flower department.
While you’re there, you may be tempted to pickup a bouquet of Roses or mixed Flowers.
They seem like a great deal and the convenience. You take them home, place them in water and a day or two later you notice they are already starting to wilt. What could be the problem with supermarket flowers?
What seemed like a great deal, may not be so much as they really did not last.
The culprit is an invisible and odorless gas called Ethylene. Ethylene gas is a by product of ripening produce. As produce ripens, they naturally produce Ethylene. Most supermarkets are ill equipped to separate their produce and flowers in storage coolers and typically most supermarkets display the flowers right beside their produce. Ethylene gas gets trapped when enclosed and requires air scrubbers to remove from the air as levels build. Flowers are very sensitive to ethylene gas and typically, by the time you have purchased the flowers and taken them home, they can very well have been affected by the gas. What seemed like a bargain at the time, may not seem to be after the flowers you purchased last for only a short amount of time. That is why quality flower shops are aware of the problem and take extra measures to make sure that flowers and produce never meet. Next time you think of purchasing supermarket flowers, think instead of patronizing your local flower shop.
