There is something rather lovely about knowing that somewhere in the hills of Sicily, an olive tree is part of your story.

We have opened a small portion of the mature olive grove at our home, Villa Fiorina, for annual sponsorship.

Your sponsorship is connected to an individually numbered olive tree in our grove and includes a personalized 8 × 10 digital certificate that can be printed and framed, a harvest-season photograph of your actual tree, and updates from Villa Fiorina as we move through the seasons and toward harvest.

Following the harvest, you will also receive a complimentary 500 mL bottle of extra-virgin olive oil produced from olives harvested from the Villa Fiorina grove and cold-pressed here in Sicily.

And yes—you can give a tree sponsorship as a gift. The certificate can be created in the recipient's name, making it a particularly meaningful gift for someone who loves Sicily, Italy, olive oil, gardening, travel, or simply the idea of being connected to a little piece of land across the sea.

Should your travels ever bring you to Sicily, let us know. We would love to welcome you to Villa Fiorina, walk out into the grove with you, and introduce you to your tree in person.

Our Founding Grove is growing. 🌿

We’ve opened just 25 mature olive trees at Villa Fiorina in Sicily for our original Founding Grove.

For $99 a year, you’ll sponsor your own individually numbered olive tree and become part of its life through the seasons — from the quiet months in the grove to harvest and pressing.

Founding Grove sponsors receive a personalized certificate, updates from Villa Fiorina, a harvest-season photograph of their actual tree, and two 500 mL bottles of Villa Fiorina Extra Virgin Olive Oil from our annual harvest.

And if Sicily ever brings you our way, we would love to welcome you to Villa Fiorina and introduce you to your tree in person.

We’ve learned that Facebook’s in-app browser isn’t always playing nicely with the link to our Olive Tree Sponsorship page. If you’ve clicked the link from one of our posts and the page disappeared or didn’t load correctly, the sponsorship is still there!

The easiest way to visit is to open your regular browser — Safari, Chrome, etc. — and type:

You can also choose “Open in external browser” from Facebook when opening the link.

After a big Sunday meal, someone in our family always brought out a plate of cold, crisp fennel. No fancy recipe just wedges with olive oil, salt and pepper, sometimes a splash of red w**e vinegar.

We ate it slowly while the coffee was brewing and the conversation around the table continued.

Funny how one simple vegetable can bring an entire family table back to life in your memory.

What did your family call it in dialect and did you eat it raw too? ❤️
