Thank You, Port Townsend Pride!

We weren't there as your professional picture framers, but to celebrate community.

Throughout the day, more then a hundred people stopped by our Pride Photo Booth to laugh, pose, hug, smile, make memories, and spend time with friends and family.

One of the things we love about framing is that it isn't really about frames.

It's about the people, stories, relationships, and moments that matter.

Saturday was a reminder of that.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, posed for a photo, brought a friend, brought a dog, brought a family member, or simply helped make the day special.

We're already looking forward to doing it again next year.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we'll be spending part of the day at Port Townsend Pride 2026 at Pope Marine Park.

Frameworks Northwest is proud to be one of this year's sponsors and we're looking forward to celebrating with our community.

We'll have a giant picture frame at our booth for photos, so stop by, say hello, and help us fill the day with smiles and memories.

Spring always seems to inspire people to refresh their homes a little.

Maybe it’s the sunshine returning, guests coming to visit, spring cleaning, or finally getting around to projects that sat all winter — but this is the time of year we get a lot of questions about creating gallery walls for homes and offices.

Some frames are part of the story.

When an original frame is integral to the artwork—but no longer strong enough to safely hold glass—we don’t replace it… we protect it.

In this case, we built a custom shadowbox that preserves the original frame while creating the depth needed to safely house and protect the artwork. The result keeps the history intact while giving it a new life on the wall.

This is one of those quiet specialties we handle more often than you might think.

If you’ve got a piece like this—bring it in. We’ll find a way to honor it.

⚠️ Heads up: We’ll be closed the last week of April for some shop construction and improvements. If you’ve been thinking about a project, we will be available through Saturday at 4:00PM. But you can always schedule an appointment directly from our website too.

WOW. What a Friday.

In case you missed it, Artemis II safely splashed down yesterday—completing a mission to the Moon, something we haven’t seen since 1972.

I watched every moment… from separation to splashdown, to the crew walking across the deck. I didn’t expect how emotional it would feel.

My father was part of the Apollo program—one of many engineers behind those early missions. As the crew returned, I found myself thinking back to the early ’70s… meeting astronauts, pioneering engineers, test pilots, like it was just an ordinary day. The things you take for granted as a kid.

Yesterday, I was even texting Mike Reed—my dad’s best friend, and one of the electrical engineers from that era who’s still with us.

It all came rushing back.

This photo came through the shop last year. It was taken by William Anders—one of the Apollo 8 astronauts. I briefly met him as a kid. Sadly, he passed not long ago in a plane crash off the San Juan Islands. It was a privilege and honor to frame.

Seeing this new generation go to the Moon—and come safely home—was beyond words.

I don’t usually get this personal here… but WOW.

The market is back.

Opening day did not disappoint.

Feeling grateful to be part of the magic of Port Townsend and Jefferson County.

And those Olympics today… wow.
It’s going to be a good season.

A new year, the same welcoming table.

As we step into the year ahead, we want to say thank you—to our neighbors, artists, collectors, and friends who walked through our door, trusted us with meaningful pieces, and helped make this place feel alive.

As Frameworks Northwest, along with our sister shop Getables, we’re grateful to be part of a small community of locally owned, independent businesses who care deeply about the people who make our community strong.

From David, Lindsay, Pat, and of course our “little” shop greeter Sophie, here’s to another year of stories, memories, and art worth framing.

As we wind down from the holiday rush, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to our incredible clients, artists, collectors, and friends who trust us with what matters most to them. It’s been a full, meaningful year in the shop, and we’re deeply grateful for the stories we get to help preserve.

We’ll be closing early today (12/24) at 2:00 PM and will be closed through January 3rd as we take a little time to rest, recharge, and get ready for the year ahead.
