Happy Beltain my loves ๐น It's been awhile since I introduced myself on here and showed the face behind the hands of Mystery Glass. My name is Mazzi Olsen, I've been doing Tiffany Copper Foil stained glass full time based out of Portland, OR for about 6 years. I love to travel with my partner in our van and exhibit my work across the country, I plan to travel to debut my work in over 6 states this year!
I consider myself a very deep thinking and spiritual neurodivergent artist, I have always been a creative well but struggled to channel that before I found my calling in glass. Now I can alchemize colorful light into art, and i love how this craft is simultaneously sharp yet fragile.
I took my first class at UofO in 2019 and then worked under the mentorship of for the past 5 years. Last year, I started up a studio space with my glassy friend and it has allowed so much creative expansion. I am currently evolving my stained glass practice to include traditional glass painting and fusing. An exciting development I have been wanting to share is that I recently brought on my friend as a temporary intern, and she has been helping me as I navigate growing my business in this new chapter!
I always want to take the chance to thank my lovely clients and customers for trusting me with your project ideas and supporting Mystery Glass. I truly wouldn't be able to do this without y'all. I also love the artist communities I have cultivated over the years in the vending and stained glass scene. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I do in this geopolitical and economic climate. The future can feel scary right now, but I think the role of artists, to bring joy and illuminate truths, is more important than ever, so keep supporting small businesses and f**k AI! I love yall, thank you for being here โฃ๏ธ๐
