We just received new Portland magnets and matchboxes inspired by the city we all know and love — bridges, cherry blossoms, bikes, neighborhoods, and a little Portland humor too.

I especially love that Jessica not only creates these pieces, but also runs her own shop out in Multnomah Village supporting local art and community.

These make such perfect little gifts, keepsakes, and tiny reminders of why people fall in love with Portland in the first place.

There’s something about that just feels comforting in the best way.

Their chicken noodle soup and roasted chicken noodle soup are genuinely some of my favorite comfort foods in Portland — cozy, nourishing, super flavorful, and made with the kind of care you can actually taste. The ingredients feel clean and thoughtful, and honestly… it tastes like someone took their time making it.

Please show some love to AAPI artisans and restaurants during AAPI Heritage Month. It’s places and food like this that make Portland feel special, memorable, and full of culture and community.

Okay wait — THIS is the Portland I want people to see. 🌸

Bloom Tour has officially transformed downtown into a giant floral art walk, with 48+ installations spread across the city through June 8. We’re so grateful to be part of it this year.

Downtown Portland does not recover by accident.

Community events, activations, art, food, markets, music, and public gathering spaces are some of the few things actively encouraging people to return, explore, and support local businesses again.

A quieter downtown affects everyone — shops, restaurants, artists, tourism, workers, and the overall feeling of the city itself.

If you believe Portland deserves investment, energy, and reasons for people to come back downtown, now is the time to speak up.

I’ve met so many kind, welcoming, supportive people through Portland’s AAPI community, and it truly has not gone unnoticed. Whether it’s food, art, craft, storytelling, or small businesses, our work is often how we share pieces of our culture and ourselves with others.
