Introducing Hillcrest, a full house renovation with spatial planning, restoration, and furnishings and finishes throughout.
After the structural work and repairs were behind us, the dining room is where we began in earnest. Dark and dreary floors sanded, then meticulously bordered with inlaid walnut for a bespoke, more lyrical feel, fitting for a house with dual exposure and gorgeous gardens on every side. Adding tongue and groove under the wainscot continues the historical knod that was most likely original to the room, trim and joinery hand finished with a subtle back brushing technique, and Lee Jofa’s trellised wallpaper sets the tone. Matthew hangs a painting we brought back from a recent trip to Paris to finish the room.
More from this house soon, please follow along.
