Works Progress Architecture is a progressive architectural design studio with offices in Portland and Los Angeles. Carrie Strickland and William Neburka launched W.PA together in 2005. W.PA has since established a design approach rooted in clear conceptual diagrams applied across a wide spectrum of project types while responding to the unique qualities of the Northwest. W.PA’s approach walks a lin

e between sexy and stern and echoes simplicity in the face of ever evolving complexity; a quiet amid the cacophony of the newest desires. Since 2005, W.PA has been presented with more than 30 design awards and has been lauded on a national scale for their work and contributions to design, including the AIA NW&P Emerging Firm Award in 2013, a place in Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard publication, the Sustainability in Design award from the AIA, as well as the Progressive Architecture award in 2010.

What an incredible team and an awesome project ! We are thrilled to break ground on The Westwind Apartments with Works Progress Architecture for Central City Concern — 100 new homes of both permanent supportive housing and affordable housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness or community members with limited incomes. Additional key project partners include Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Inc. and the Imani Center to offer culturally specific programming for Native American and African American individuals. We are honored to be a part of this project and the WALSH team of Afton Walsh, Adam Klauba, Ben Bechdolt and Sarah Stein are thrilled to get started on the work.
