This article clears up the false claims that recycling is pointless.

Last week, fervent social media user Elon Musk took to his broadcast system, X (formerly known as Twitter), to declare that “recycling is pointless” atop a retweet of a video from YouTuber and climate change denier John Stossel called “The Recycling Religion.” The video, released last year, ...

A while back, I shared that significant changes were happening with Mobius Home. It’s taken a couple of years to reflect, accept, and realign my personal priorities and the direction of the business. Today, I’m thrilled to share an update that marks a meaningful step forward.

Introducing Rewirement! Not retirement—but a rewiring of my priorities to focus on what matters most to me. As part of this transition, the Mobius Home website will be shutting down by the end of the month. However, the business remains active, and you’ll still find me on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Rest assured, I’m not retreating to a rocking chair on the porch to watch the world go by. The gears are still turning, and while I’m still processing what comes next, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and the surprises waiting on the horizon!

Thank you for being part of this journey—your support means the world to me.

This installation titled Diamond Matrix by Studio Irma was mesmerizing. The observer enters a small narrow room covered in mirrors on all surfaces. The effect is infinite and the concept is explained as follows: “As humans we undergo great pressures. Yet socially failing is not acceptable. Diamonds, made of carbon, go through incredible stress, to emerge as shining jewels and one of the strongest materials on earth. So can you. This installation of hundreds of light up diamonds expresses that we participate in a bigger picture, sharing more similarities than differences. Life is messy and hard, but it makes us stronger. Celebrate your indestructible shine. Who are the diamonds in your life?”

A message to hold onto, especially in current conditions.

Nearing the finish line…..The presidential race is expected to be close. Mailed ballots take longer to count due to the time it takes to physically open envelopes and verify voter information. A slow-to-arrive announcement of the presidential winner is not evidence of fraud. It means that election officials are counting every vote carefully and securely. 🇺🇸❤️✅

Experimenting with a scan of the sketch of the newlyweds, in Photoshop, I utilized the drawing and fill tools, plus some filters and generative AI. The text, “Significant Otter”, and “I Love You More”, reflects the subject of their vows, which were super sweet, touching and filled with joy. 💚💘💖 🌸

I was invited to present at Vida Design's newly formed Sustainability Club in Portland this week. Today, I'm excited to share highlights from my presentation, including a practical example of how I assist designers in selecting sustainable materials.

In the second through fourth images, I share my background and credentials, discuss chemicals of concern for both designers and clients, and outline the certifications and standards to look for to ensure products are genuinely safer.

The last two images illustrate how to choose between comparable materials. The first image examines the pros and cons of LVT, guiding you towards safer options. The next image showcases a better alternative made from cork plank. This example is part of my Eco-Friendly Audit service.

Navigating sustainable materials can be overwhelming, but I'm here to help. Send me a message if you're interested in working together!

Recently, I embarked on a creative gift-giving endeavor that took 3 days to complete—a crepe paper bouquet for my niece. We celebrated her matriculation into becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Pacific University. It was a proud auntie moment, marking Evin's dedication and sacrifice to achieve this goal. I also celebrated the effort of completing this challenging project!

Last December, I shared news about some significant shifts within Mobius Home. Since then, I've been on a journey of introspection, contemplating the impact of these changes on my path forward. In a world where the pace of life seems non-stop, I've made a solemn commitment to embrace authenticity in 2024. This entails deliberately slowing down, honing in on what truly matters, and staying true to myself.
Through this process, I've unearthed five core elements that fuel my creativity and reconnect me with the artist within. These pillars include:

1. Education: Both for personal growth and for sharing knowledge with others. Which includes sharing insights on furnishings, fixtures, finishes, and materials that embrace a circular lifecycle, promoting equity and sustainability.

2. Exploration: Venturing into new artistic realms to expand my horizons.

3. Music: Rediscovering the joy of playing the piano and immersing myself in the world of music.

4. Culinary Creativity: Nurturing my passion for cooking and savoring the delights of delicious food.

5. Wellness: Prioritizing fitness and embracing the great outdoors to maintain balance and vitality.

These pursuits not only enrich my own life but also provide opportunities to share meaningful experiences with others. As I delve deeper into these endeavors, I find nourishment for my soul and a pathway to fulfillment that resonates with my true essence.

This kitchen remodel is a sanctuary of comfort and delight. The vibrant reds beckon appetite, while the soothing yellows infuse warmth into the space. We’ve seamlessly blended vintage charm with modern functionality, paying homage to the rich history of our 124 year old home.
