After moving into our new home on Belmont, we realized we had some extra room to play with new products. We’ve been slowly introducing some new brands into the shop. One of our faves is Room Shop! Their phone strap has become a staple for most of our staff members, and the little scrunchies and bag charms are to die for!! We brought in a variety of scrunchies and other accessories, all available online now.

Our newest Substack post is up! As always, we’re talking about yarn, but this time we’re exploring what it means to hold two strands of yarn together. We get a lot of questions about this in the shop and decided it was time to give you all the info about it you could need! Let’s chat about mohair, holding yarn double, scrap busting, and more :) Link is in our bio!

During yarn crawl back in March, we kept seeing people pop in with their Roomy Raglans and quickly became obsessed. Jules Efterfield’s first design has such a classic, timeless look. Her second, the Rolled Raglan, is just as good!! We figured out the gauge would be spot on for our Undine DK held double and immediately cast on.

This sweater worked up so quick, its simple shaping lending itself well to a fun and painless project. For their Undine MAL project, Avery used Undine DK in Natural and Rye for a subtle marl that brings a little interest while still being neutral. With our Undine color palette, you can use any shades you want!! We put together a few duos just in case you need some extra inspo.

And a reminder for all you Undine MALers, we’re on our last week!! The MAL ends August 30th. Make sure to submit your FOs to Discord or Ravelry!! We’ve loved seeing what you’ve all made 😌 Undine 4eva

Friend of the pod Ken of Ken • Reiko Co. is coming back to the RD classroom for another workshop on September 20th! This time, she’ll be teaching us how to make these stunning hair clips (or brooches, if you prefer!) using Tila beads.

Learn to weave unique hair clips with beautiful glass beads! In this class we will design stunning checkered hair clips (or brooches) using Ken’s Tila Bead collection. Ken will guide you through the process of handweaving your own beaded piece. All materials provided. No experience necessary, but you should be comfortable working with very small needles and beads.

Finally, we have a spinning class on the schedule! If you’ve been interested in hand spinning your own yarn, drop spindle is a great place to start.

Join Stephanie McCollough for an introduction to this very ancient and yet increasingly contemporary craft of handspinning! You will learn how to use a drop spindle to produce a skein of yarn from your very own fingertips. We will cover starting your spin, techniques for using your spindle to produce a one-ply “singles” yarn, and ways that you can finish your yarn at home once you have spun enough to fill your spindle. We’ll also go over different types of fiber, fiber preparations, knitting with your handspun, and lots of resources so that you have plenty of information to launch you into your new life as a spinner.

Intro to Drop Spindle is available on September 5th and 23rd. Registration is open now!!
