Now that we’re getting all settled into our new space, it’s time to start chatting about all the classes we have planned for the !! When we had come to the shop during RCYC this year we knew we wanted to work with them again soon. Luckily, they’ll be back later this month on teach a sequining workshop! This event is on June 27th, 10am-12pm at 3300 SE Belmont.

Join local q***r artist Sam Pletcher for a Sequin 101 workshop! You’ll learn how to hand sew sequins and create your own sequin artwork to take home. Materials are provided so there’s no need to bring supplies, but, if you have fabric or sequins from home that you would like to use for the project, feel free to take them with you to the workshop! All attendees will walk away with their sequin artwork (with their chosen motifs) in a wooden embroidery hoop. Sewing skills are not necessary to participate; we will only be completing basic stitching in this workshop and learning how to do so will be covered. The last 15 minutes will be reserved for sharing what we made during the workshop.

Registration is available now on our website!

🌱 PERIDOT & HICKORY 🤎

The palette we’ve created for our non-superwash bases has been so true to Ritual Dyes for years. They represent us as a brand and as makers - all of our favorite shades that mix and match perfectly. However, recently, there’s been a little gap, and we’ve filled it with some brand new colorways. Say hello to Peridot and Hickory!

✽ PERIDOT is a grassy, mossy green shade that is just what we’ve been wanting. It’s the perfect bright yet still earthy shade and pairs perfectly with our other colorways.

✽ HICKORY is the ideal deep chocolatey brown. It’s a neutral dark shade, maybe leaning slightly warm, and provides a great contrast to our lighter colors.

We’ve also added Forget Me Not, Chromite, Smoke, and Dune to the Marona lineup! Keep an eye out for even more new shades coming up soon - we’ve been having a bit too much fun in the new dye studio!

Our weekend with is three weeks away! To celebrate the opening of our new shop, James is joining us for a couple of classes and workshops. One of his classes focuses on lace! We’ve knit up a bunch of his patterns - the two featured here are Look At My Holes, made with Robinson, and the Rib Lace Raglan in Undine.

Registration for his classes are open now!! You can find more info about his lace class, his session on modular knitting, and lecture all about yarn on our website.

We’ve talked about Undine, and now it’s time for its counterpart, Undine DK! It’s the & cotton combination we know and love, just a bit softer, and a bit thicker. It’s such a versatile yarn - as you can see, we went a little overboard with our recommendations this time. Imagining different projects in this unique base is so fun. If you haven’t found your perfect project yet, take a gander! Maybe you can find yours here.

It’s always lovely to pop into .wellness for our Stitch & Stretch. Marijean is an incredible hostess and so generously shares her experience of Thai massage. Her practice is based in real-life experience that applies directly to those that work with their hands. The guided instruction takes you through stretches for those overworked muscles, and you get a special snack with tea after! We’ve done a few of these events so far and it’s wonderful to go through the exercises with everyone and have a little sit and knit afterwards.

This is definitely an event we’ll be continuing to host a few times a year, so if you missed this one, don’t fret! More coming soon :)

🧜‍♀️ UNDINE MAKE-A-LONG 🧜‍♀️

It’s tiiiiime! Every summer we host a make-a-long featuring our lovely and wonderful cotton/linen base Undine. This summer is no different! Our Undine MAL starts May 21st and goes until August 30th. Knit or crochet, fi*****ng weight or DK, all projects are welcome. Use any Undine in your stash, or grab a skein from out shop or our stockists.

One thing that is slightly different this year is the entry process. With IG hashtags a thing of the past, all entries will have to be through Ravelry or Discord. Make sure to post your FO on our Undine MAL 2026 Ravelry thread or Discord Channel to enter! Prizes are randomly picked, and winners will receive Ritual Dyes gift cards.

We’re going to have a cast-on party during Crafting Circle on May 21st, so start thinking about your projects! We’ve got lots of Undine here waiting to be knit up - can’t see what you all come up with :)

We are so honored to have Undine featured in the new edition of ! Lis Smith of designed this gorgeous bandana pattern with a seeded rib stitch and slipped-stitch edges.

For her sample, she used Siren and Prarie Flax, but we’ve put together a bunch more to celebrate the release of the pattern! The options are endless here. The Undinecolor family is very intentional - we created it with color matching in mind, so the colors all work harmoniously with each other.

Kits are available now on our website, as well as the magazine.

If you’ve been following along with our moving updates, you’ve probably also noticed that we’re running very low on our hand-dyed colorways. As much as we hate not having some of our most beloved colorways in stock, it’s for a good reason! Part of our moving process centers around our new studio space. There’s been many iterations of the Ritual Dyes studio: from Rachel’s basement, to the shop basement, to a deedicated studio separate from the shop. This time, we wanted to keep everything under one roof. Our new studio space was born out of a need to stay connected with the shop and let those who visit get a glimpse into the dyeing process. That being said, a huge restock is coming very soon!! If you’re looking for a specific color, make sure to sign up for email notifications. It helps us see what colors people are wanting so we know what to dye up first!

The further along in the process we get the more thankful and excited we are. This move obviously is an upgrade from our current space, but it feels like so much more than that. We’re building out a whole new home for Ritual Dyes that represents everything we’ve built and hope to continue building. The opening can’t come soon enough!
