Our passion is uncovering the potential in the forgotten; we rescue time-worn pieces and refine them to bring a simple, natural touch to your space. Salvage Sisters was born from the heart of our mother, Betty B. Betty had a gift for finding beauty in the things others cast aside, and she spent her life finding joy in the "hunt" of a good sale. Thrifting is in our blood. When she passed in 2020, w
e took the $800 seed money from her very last yard sale and decided to turn that passion into a hobby. With that seed money in hand, we hit the ground running. Every weekend became a mission: scouting estate sales, roadside curbs, and barn sales for anything with potential. This year was a whirlwind of investing in our first saws, drills, and brushes—learning as we went. We started so small we didn't even have a garage to work in, so we rented a storage unit until our very first sale brought our treasures to life. Every treasure we sell is a labor of love shared between us. We find joy in every stage—picking, creating, and staging—but our favorite part will always be doing it together as sisters. We began selling at the Kauffman Family Farm barn sale in the fall of 2020. The past five years have been spent partnering with our brother and sister-in-law, David and Melanie Kauffman, who shared their charming space with us. They still host several sales throughout the year—be sure to follow their treasures on FB . Clarksville, MI.
2026 is the start of a brand-new chapter! While we have loved every moment at the Kauffman Family Farm, Salvage Sisters is moving to a new home. You can now find our treasures at Bob’s Barn as part of The Barn Sale Trail. Be sure to follow the Trail for all upcoming sale dates! Looking ahead to 2027, we are hard at work on something special. We are currently renovating a space in Portland designed specifically for our one-of-a-kind finds. The dust is flying and our vision is coming to life. Stay tuned for updates—we can’t wait to welcome you into our new space in 2027! With love and dust.
