A family story restored, and thoughtfully brought home.

An out‑of‑town client discovered us through online reviews while searching for a meaningful gift for their mother here in Portland. Together with her brother, she wanted to honor their family history by restoring and framing a beautifully rendered print of a treasured heirloom: a 19th‑century painting of a ship, The Helicon, that once belonged to their relatives.

Working closely with them from afar, our Raleigh Hills Beard’s Framing designers selected an elegant heritage burlwood frame that complements the period, character, and quiet strength of the artwork. The client had the print shipped directly to us, and we timed the framing so it would be ready for her visit with her mother.

The result is a piece that feels rooted in history, carefully preserved, and ready to be lived with. Seeing the family’s reaction reminded us why we value this work so deeply. Framing can bridge generations, distance, and memory when done with care.

The galaxy’s most wanted, now in the galaxy’s toughest frames.

For , we’re showcasing a legendary lineup, from the wisdom of Obi-Wan and Yoda to the grit of Chewbacca and Boba Fett. But legendary art deserves more than a standard frame.

We’ve paired these portraits with hand-welded, industrial steel frames from Atomic Frames. Whether it’s the refined authority of Grand Moff Tarkin or the rebellion spirit of Leia Boushh, the raw metal texture brings an "outer rim" authenticity you won't find anywhere else.

This framing project began with a journey, and a complicated piece of history.

This client returned from time spent in South Korea with a small but powerful collection: North Korean propaganda fliers, originally dropped from airplanes as part of a recruitment campaign. Each piece holds meaning on both sides, visually and historically.

Our team at Raleigh Hills Beard’s Framing designed an elegant, restrained framing solution that lets the artifacts speak without sensationalism. We used a retro‑styled frame, combining walnut and warm bronze for depth and subtle contrast, paired with a simple black mat to help the original colors remain clear and grounded. The piece is finished with Museum Glass to ensure long‑term protection and clarity.

To go one step further, we photographed the backs of the fliers and used our in‑house printing services to preserve that lesser‑seen context, allowing the full story to be present without compromising the originals. A thoughtful extension that the client was thrilled to see realized.

This is what framing can do at its best: preserve history, add understanding, and present complex material with care and respect.

A Common Thread that binds us all: a love for our team and a respect for our planet.

Happy Earth Day, Seattle! Today, we are proud to showcase this stunning, custom-framed, signed Joey Daccord () "Common Thread" Green Night sweater.

This isn’t just a jersey; it's a statement. Part of the ’s themed night series, the Green Night jersey represents our collective commitment to sustainability and protecting the breathtaking environment of the Pacific Northwest, and the world.

For a piece this meaningful, standard framing wasn't enough. The team at our Bellevue MQF shop designed it to preserve the jersey's unique textures and vibrant designs. A color-matched thin metal liner accentuates the green theme, and the floating mount and premium, natural wood frame give this piece the museum-quality presentation it deserves.

Proof that meaning can show up in unexpected places.

One of our regular clients stopped by our Tualatin Beard's Framing shop with something small, but full of intention: a perfectly heart‑shaped potato chip, saved and framed as Valentine’s Day décor.

To honor the charm (and humor) of the moment without turning it into a novelty, we kept the design thoughtful and restrained. The chip is floated on a rose colored mat, giving it space to breathe, and finished in a gold readymade frame that adds warmth with an economical touch of romance.

It’s a lighthearted piece, yes, but also a reminder of something we see every day: objects become meaningful because of the stories we attach to them. Our job is simply to protect that meaning and help it live well on the wall.

Framed with care by our Tualatin team.

This photograph is over 30 years old.

It was a gift from college friends. One moment, one season, one field of red tulips, preserved.

Recently, the client chose to refresh the framing at our Bellevue MQF shop, not to change the photograph, but to support it as it continues to age. A natural walnut frame brings warmth and steadiness, allowing the muted blues of the sky and the deep reds of the tulips to feel grounded and familiar.

Some images aren’t about what’s new. They’re about what’s stayed with us, and how we care for it over time.

This shadowbox is more than just vintage memorabilia; it’s a story of a nephew honoring his aunt’s childhood. Our client grew up with a deep love for The Lone Ranger, a childhood spark that never truly went out. Years later, her nephew discovered that same passion. When he found a vintage cap gun and holster, he knew exactly who they belonged with.

She brought these treasures into our Tualatin Beard’s Framing shop to finally give them the home they deserve. But the real magic happened when we looked closer. Tucked inside the original comic book was a tiny, rare roll of film that is only viewable in the old View-Masters. A literal "hidden gem" of storytelling from her childhood.

We chose a classic wood frame and a soft fabric mat to give these artifacts a warm, rugged feel. This shadowbox is now a bridge between generations and preserved for years to come for future generations.

Aunt and nephew, bound by a hero and a shared memory. This is why we love what we do. Hi Ho Silver!
