I have been a stay at home mom since 2003 and started making and selling wood products on Etsy in 2013. Over the years, I really enjoyed learning the in and outs of running a business and dreamed one day I would own my own storefront. Even though my little Etsy shop didn’t bring in a lot of money, I enjoyed the creative outlet and loved making my customers happy. I made sure that I gave the best customer service and provided great quality products. I didn’t ship anything that I wasn’t 100% happy with. I also loved making custom orders for my customers and was known for going above and beyond to make my customers happy. They say 50% of businesses fail within the first 5 years. Well I wasn’t going to let that happen because to me it wasn’t an option. In 2018, my family moved from California to North Idaho to provide a better life for our kids and to live a better quality of life. It has definitely been a transition and we have had our struggles. I also felt that an opportunity for me was on the rise. I didn’t know what but I felt it was coming. I continued to educate myself by reading books and watching webinars on how to run my own business and how to be successful. In 2019, after speaking to another artisan, I was presented with an opportunity to have my own space starting in 2020. I felt so blessed. So here I am now working on a website, talking to local vendors, finding great product and getting my new space set up. I am so excited and have so many ideas in the works for Northwest Crafts and Decor and hope you will follow me on my journey. ~Amanda~
