Most of us learned that Mother's Day (the one that began in 1908) as a way to honor our mothers. But the original Mothers' Day — apostrophe in the plural — began in 1870 with a woman named Julia Ward Howe.
She had watched the Civil War consume an entire generation and decided that the people who bore the cost of war ought to have a say in whether it happened. So she called women together. Not for flowers. For power. For conversation. For collective imagination about what the world could become.
She understood something that gets forgotten — that when women gather in a room with purpose, things change.
Where the conversation happens. Where objects carry stories and stories carry meaning... thats what I cant stop thinking about building, that third space where movements are born, where the sum of individual lives became something larger!
