Relationships matter.
What makes Hudson Valley Upholstery different is the care and attention we bring to fabric selection.
We’re upholsterers—not interior designers—and we’re always clear about that distinction. But we’ve invested a great deal of time in understanding how fabrics are made, why they wear, how they can be cared for and which materials are best suited to everyday life.
Many fabric companies purchase patterns from the same mills and relabel them. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but it can lead to the same designs appearing everywhere—sometimes at very different prices. Whenever possible, we work closer to the source, helping our clients access distinctive, high-quality fabrics at a fair price while reducing unnecessary markups.
We select our fabric partners based on:
• Quality and longevity
• Wearability and care requirements
• Variety and originality
• Fair pricing
• Strong vendor relationships
• Access to knowledgeable representatives
Those relationships matter. If we know what a client is looking for in advance, we can often invite a fabric representative to an appointment or request carefully selected samples before they arrive.
Our clients frequently come to us because a fabric has worn prematurely. Sometimes the first conversation isn’t simply about reupholstering—it’s about understanding why the original material failed and how we can make a better selection this time.
We don’t just help you find a beautiful fabric. We help you choose one that makes sense for the furniture, your home and the way you actually live.
That thoughtful, education-based approach is part of the Hudson Valley Upholstery difference.
S/o Allie Geyer | Thibaut for partnering with us and always going the extra mile (LITERALLY! yesterday she met me at their design showroom at 200 Lex to help with project sourcing).
