There’s something special about gathering in a beautiful place, under a blue sky, with good people and good energy. 🌿✨

Such a wonderful day at Yoga in the Garden, hosted by my amazing friend Jess Watts, realtor extraordinaire, connector, and true community builder. Jess has a gift for bringing people together, and this day was such a beautiful example of that.

I loved being part of it with a Sweet Earth Co. flower bar, inviting everyone to slow down, play with flowers, and take a little piece of the day home with them. 💐

My friend and collaborator Debbie of Deborah Campos created the most delicious and nourishing spread, and the incredibly talented A N D R O M E D A treated us to a beautiful crystal bowl sound bath. Add in yoga, sunshine, a collection of wonderful local pop-ups and more than 50 people gathered together, and the vibe was pretty hard to beat.

Days like this are such a reminder of why I love collaborations; small businesses supporting one another, sharing what we do, and creating experiences that bring people together.

The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and the energy was just GOOD. ☀️🌸

This is what I dreamed of. 🤍

Feeling especially grateful tonight to sit here, take in this view, and celebrate 26 years of marriage over a simple meal made up of some of our favorites—coq au vin, green beans and potatoes fresh from the garden, and a glass of Lambrusco.

Nothing extravagant. Just good food, a beautiful summer evening, and the person I’ve shared the last 26 years with.

Happy anniversary to us. 🤍

Late summer is made for gathering outdoors and dining alfresco.

Long tables beneath the trees. Seasonal food. Armfuls of flowers. And that beautiful golden August light that makes you want to linger just a little longer.

There’s something special about a gathering that feels completely connected to its time and place; where the flowers, tablescape and surrounding landscape come together to capture a moment in the season.

For this late-summer dinner, abundant goldenrod brought the surrounding fields to the table, while warm amber glass, natural textures and layers of pattern created a setting that felt relaxed, generous and unmistakably August.

This is what I love about floral and event design: creating more than something beautiful to look at. It’s about creating an atmosphere, a vibe, a sense of place and a setting that invites people to gather, connect and stay awhile.

This is what can happen when you leave your garden unattended for a week when there are heavy rains, followed by a heat wave.

I guess there will be lots of zucchini, bread in my future. And perhaps some relish made from the cucumbers. What else can I make with large zucchini? Any ideas?
