I have always wanted to share rare plants with the people in my small rural communities, who might not get the chance to see or know about these gems.

This little unassuming plant is the Hoya Decipulae. This thin glossy leaved hoya grows in Indonesia and Sumatra. It's prized for its faint smelling blooms that resemble a whisk you might use to beat eggs with. Unlike your thick leaved hoyas this one requires a bit more water and doesn't like to dry out. It thrives best in a chunky, well draining soil, in bright indirect light and has done well in my shop's moderate humidity.

There are over 560 different species of hoyas. Its one of the plants I enjoy rotating through in my shop because there is bound to be something for everyone.

Peperomia prostrata otherwise known as the String Of Turtles is one of the cutest plants in the shop. Their leaves resemble little turtle shells. This trailing plant grows along the forest floors of Brazil and on tree trunks as an epiphyte. It does best in bright indirect light and watered when the leaves start to look thin. They are prone to root rot so if you're an overwaterer, this might not be the plant for you. Otherwise, its one of those plants that add charm to your plant collection. They are non toxic to pets, which makes them even better. 🐢

Special thanks to Celena at White Sheep Interiors and Upholstery for this hutch. I have been daydreaming about this thing since the day I laid eyes on it. My entire family knows how much I have wanted this thing. She even delivered it with Gluten Free goodies too. Don't mind me if you come in the shop and I am just gazing at it with heart eyes. You're all more than welcome to come in and stare at with me, if you'd like.

Lets talk LECA...
Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate

This stuff is one of my favorite versatile things in my plant collection. These small baked porous clay balls offer a soil free growing medium alternative. Helping reduce fungus gnats by taking away the soil they need to breed. They allow for air flow and absorption of water, which helps prevent root rot. Here is a list of uses:
1. Propagating plants.
2. Drainage Layer.
3. Semi Hydroponics.
4. Soil Amendment.
5. Top Dressing.

LECA is reusable, making it worth the investment. Just rinse, sanitize and reuse.

💚Dischidia Variegated Million Hearts💚

This adorable little vining beauty is the cousin of the Hoya. A member of the dogbane family. Producing long vines with succulent like variegated green and white hearts, it produces the most fragrant little star shaped flowers. This little thing is epiphytic which means it grows on trees, rather than along the forest floor. It does best in bright indirect light in a chunky soil requiring water only when the heart shaped leaves start to wrinkle. This thing is what we call easy peasy lemon squeezy...
It is considered toxic to pets. Although I hear a lot of mixed reviews about this, its best to error on the side of caution.

I often get asked about mine in the shop so I was excited to find a few for you guys.

Psygmorchis pusilla is a miniature epiphytic orchid that grows in the humid, lowland forests of south and central America. She produces beautiful "tiny dancing lady" shaped yellow blooms. 💛 These happy little orchids bloom every 8 to 12 weeks.
