I have always wanted to share rare plants with the people in my small rural communities, who might not get the chance to see or know about these gems.

This little unassuming plant is the Hoya Decipulae. This thin glossy leaved hoya grows in Indonesia and Sumatra. It's prized for its faint smelling blooms that resemble a whisk you might use to beat eggs with. Unlike your thick leaved hoyas this one requires a bit more water and doesn't like to dry out. It thrives best in a chunky, well draining soil, in bright indirect light and has done well in my shop's moderate humidity.

There are over 560 different species of hoyas. Its one of the plants I enjoy rotating through in my shop because there is bound to be something for everyone.

A small selection of these will be available today at the Bighorn Basin Farmer's Market and we are talking pretty to Emily Lorraine at Indigo Thrive to make our debut there hopefully on Thursday with cookies and biscotti! It's farmer's market day! The Bighorn Basin Farmer's Market is in Powell on Second St from 4:30-6:30.

Why oh why does a furniture redo business do the farmer's market? I went gluten free about six years ago because I was hurting. Not a little hurting either! I went to the doctor and had X-rays done thinking I broke something, hurting. I had blood testing done. Nothing was found. I was desperate to stop hurting so I did the Whole 30 diet. And magically the hurting went away in that time. When I added breads back in I started hurting again, bad! That was before I knew you need gluten in your system for a diagnosis. Not just a day or two of it, weeks of exposure are needed. I'm not willing to hurt that long for a diagnosis that will not change a single thing of how I now live my life. Now I know within hours if I've had something that sets my body off. My reactions are more immediately noticed and not just with the body pain.

So you get drug along with me as I garden and bake. You get to enjoy the bounty too.
