đ¨ LONG BEACH WOMAN SENTENCED TO 35 YEARS AFTER DEADLY STABBING
Daphne Diane Zeringue pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Gary Cooper last year.
Prosecutors say Zeringue chased a witness while armed with a machete, yelling, âEveryoneâs gonna die,â before going into Cooperâs home and stabbing him multiple times.
Zeringue turned herself in and admitted during the interview that she stabbed Cooper. During the interview, she made statements reflecting her belief that her children had been harmed and described the killing as a âjustified homicide.â
She will serve the 35-year sentence without parole or early release.
