Hello, my name is Angie...thanks for liking my page. I am blessed to be charged with taking care of my amazing family!

I love working on projects around our home and creating A Nurtured Nest for us to enjoy! I adore repurposing forgotten pieces and using them in fun new ways! I believe there is beauty in all things...even (especially) roadside finds! When I'm not DIY-ing it, I can be found: caring for my husband/bff and three entertaining kids, reading my favorite blogs, researching EO's, experimenting in the kit

chen, organizing or volunteering at school or church. On this page you will find painted furniture pieces for sale in the album cleverly entitled For Sale! You can also send a PM to A Nurtured Nest for info on custom painting services for a piece you already own and would simply like refreshed.

A couple of weeks after moving I started my very first home improvement project in our new home.

In this corner of our main bathroom I’ve…

• Painted the inside of the linen closet
• Papered the original shelves
• Added additional shelves
• Installed a new closet floor
• Painted the cabinet doors and frame
• Replaced the hinges and hardware
• Primed the future feature wall
• Painted the adjacent wall my favorite neutral
• Made a towel hook from sentimental materials
• Painted the floor trim
• Hired an electrician to move the light switch

And this past weekend my handy husband jumped in and tackled a BIG piece of the project. He removed the pass-through door, framed out the opening, added sheetrock and got the first coat of mud and tape on.

DIY home improvement projects are a marathon not a sprint.

Was your July a blur? Because…same.

One minute it was July 1st and somehow today is August 1st.

The biggest gift in July was having our daughter and son-in-law home for the entire month. We packed those weeks full, soaking up every chance we had to make memories before they headed off for their next adventure.

In the middle of all that, my parents made the big decision to move into a new home. It’s been a special season as many family members and friends have come alongside them as they make this transition. We’re excited to see them get settled and begin this next chapter.

Add in all the normal life stuff and July became one beautiful, memory-filled blur.

Had to phone a friend (a.k.a. my mom) from the garden center today. If you know my mom you know she was not going to be the voice of reason and tell me to pass on the plants.

They were looking a little sad, marked down and definitely past their prime moment, but they had potential.

A good drink of water, a few hours out of direct sunlight and a simple pruning and now they are looking fabulous!

It’s like they just needed someone to believe in them. 🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸

I have a very strict policy when it comes to the color of the flowers on my plants. I only like 3 colors…Can you guess what they are?

I’m obsessed!

Our family and this Radio Flyer have shared so many fun memories over the years—countless walks around the cul-de-sac, beach days, park picnics and more.

For the last several years, it’s been bouncing around the garage, dutifully holding all sorts of things. Useful? Absolutely. But it was also keeping this wagon from “rolling” into its next FABULOUS chapter.

All it took was a little vision, a little paint & stain and some clearance rack plants.

More black accents to follow as we continue work on our exterior. 🖤

We had a berry good morning! 🍓

Our youngest and I hit up Berry Hill Farm earlier today and in just 45 minutes we picked 7.75 pounds of beautiful, perfectly ripe strawberries.

Now we’re dreaming up all the ways to enjoy them—yogurt parfaits, puff pastries and maybe even a batch of homemade jam.

What’s your favorite way to enjoy fresh strawberries?

Cheers to the roll-off getting picked up!

Our front yard officially looks less like a construction site and more like a place people actually live. We still have several details left to finish, but this feels like a major win!

No more failing windows. No more leaning brickwork. Just a clean finish that mirrors the siding, trim and shakes on the addition and finally makes our exterior look cohesive.

And the best part? This project is wrapping up today on our ONE-YEAR anniversary of living here!

We’ve been working toward this for months and seeing it all come together feels surreal. So. Many. Answered. Prayers.

For privacy reasons, I won’t be sharing photos of the entire exterior, but I’ll definitely share a few close-up glimpses of the finished details once the last tweaks are made, everything is cleaned up and we’ve put things back in order.

Friends, thank you for being here and following along as we make this house our home.

Eek…Operation “Marry Up the Original House with the Addition” starts next week!

We’ve been working toward this goal since last September and today our contractor called to confirm that he and his crew will be here bright and early Monday morning.

After months of planning, making decisions, choosing colors, ordering materials and dreaming about what could be, we’re finally about to see it all come together. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying. 🤩😬😂

Have an amazing weekend, friends!

Houston, we have a problem. 😬

Check out the top right corner of these window blinds. Has this happened to you? If so, were you able to successfully fix the problem?

My internet research is telling me to remove the blinds from the window frame, peek inside the headrail and see if there’s a spool or threading issue causing the right side to bind up.

Before I start taking things apart, I’d love to hear from anyone who’s dealt with this. Was it an easy fix, a restringing project or a lost cause?

Although I’m not exactly in love with these blinds, I’m not ready to replace them either!
Hit me up with your suggestions in the comments. TIA!
