Frankly, our greatest accomplishment.

It makes my heart so happy every time we get an edition of and then to see us FEATURED in it? Heart attack.

We are beyond grateful for the donations that we get and the creativity of the people who have come before us.

We've been really lucky to get most of our art from donations and we love displaying projects that other people have made so everyone can enjoy it!

Here's how to make your own stickers from fabric:
1. Get your hands on some fabric scraps.
2. Find some double-sided adhesive.
3. Peel off one side and place your fabric on top. Make sure there are no bubbles.
4. Cut out your designs.
5. Stick them everywhere!

Thank you for the idea!

The absolute artist who created this quiet book used a ton of different techniques to create the illustrations for each letter.

She hand drew some, fussy-cut novelty fabric prints, and cut nearly every letter from an aptly-themed fabric--check out the pea pods for P and the music notes for M! Each applique is thoughtfully pieced and beautifully embroidered-- such a treasure.

A couple of years ago I was asked to speak to a group of quilters about ideas for using up their scraps.

If you don't know--quilters and their scraps are next level.

As long as you can get a quarter inch seam around it, no piece is too small to be potentially useful.

They come from quilters who wasted nothing, and that thrift, grit, and creativity is in the DNA of their craft. Often they're already making scrap quilts to donate, zipper pouches and key fobs to gift, and stuffing heavy patchwork ottomans with scraps and thread. They often still have piles, bins, and closets of scraps that can be completely overwhelming.

Presenting this group with another list of more things they could make in an effort to not waste anything felt like missing the point.

Instead, we used our hour together to talk about the overwhelm, where it's rooted, and hopefully some new perspective on handling it.

If you've reached the point where your creative overflow is stifling your creative expression, consider walking through our flow chart with a few items in mind. How does it feel? Are there sections of the flow chart you'd like to see a deep dive on?

And if you've already got a stack or two you're ready to let go, we take scraps of all types and sizes here at Making Space Thrift--we'd be happy to help them find new life!

Did you know you can stuff a grocery bag to the brim with any type of scrap from our scrap wall and it's only $7 per bag??

Now you know!

(Quilting scraps not included.)
