Bridal bouquet out the door. Homegrown lisianthus!! (Not canadian product with 50% tariff. Grown right here at Daisy Belle's Flower Farm) White gomphrena, zinnias and scabiosa also all grown local. This bouqet is finished off with 9 columbian roses. (Even though the big # for race fans this wknd is 6!! ) Good Luck Otto!!

It's going out the door.....it's almost like we are between seasons. Some are wanting to cling to summer as long as they can and....some want the crisp jewel tones of fall. We are doing both. We have gorgeous burgundy dahlias from the flower farm and still lots of summer color in zinnias, scabiosa, gomphrena..and more.

This lisianthus was grown at Daisy Belle's Flower Farm. (Not because we need another labor intensive project, but because the prices of flowers have skyrocketed and we are struggling hard to keep them affordable.)
The entire floral industry is a tariff. Baskets that everyone thinks are "cheap"...crazy expensive. My dishgarden baskets are $20.00
$20.00!!!. Funeral wreath forms have tripled in cost for us.
Now with the Canadian trade war, Gerbera daisies that had previously jumped to $6.00 a stem will now be atleast $8
00. (Good bye Gerbs...)
I saw one projection that a bunch of lisianthus wholesale could be running almost $50.00 a bunch.
Currently higher end flowers are running from 6 to 8.00 a stem. My rose prices havent gone up because my profit margins have gone down. Some of my floral friends are charging almost double for the same product. (And...as a fellow florist said to me..."You are working just as hard to make less.)
We have the flower farm and are supplementing where we can to keep flower prices affordable for our customers. I am working hard to weather this storm.

I keep thinking I've forgotten something...no wedding this weekend. Finishing up an order for 20 dozen bows to ship out...

I keep thinking I've forgotten something...no wedding this weekend. Finishing up an order for 20 dozen bows to ship out and trying to finish getting fall on the showroom floor. (1\2 way there.) My helper is back to college classes so I am adjusting.
Check out the hanging amaranthus, burgundy dahlias and ooh..those coffee break roses!!

I keep saying.."I haven't had summer yet" but Mother Nature is dropping some pretty big hints for fall. I do LOVE the colors of fall, I just dread that next brutal season. What's your favorite fall flower??
