🚨 NEW JAR, SAME MAGIC! 🚨

You may notice something different the next time you pick up a jar of Nils’ Magic Kimchi.

Nils’ Magic Kimchi is in a NEW JAR!

Don’t worry—it’s the same handcrafted kimchi, the same recipe, and the same amount of kimchi you know and love. We’ve simply moved to a shorter, wider-mouth jar that makes it easier to get every last bite of kimchi out of the jar.

♻️ Why the change?
• Easier access to your kimchi
• Easier for us to sanitize and reuse jars
• Less waste and a more sustainable process
• Same great quality and flavor

For those who shop with us at our farmers markets, you’ll also notice that we are no longer placing labels directly on the glass jars. Instead, the product label will now be located on the lid only. This small change makes it much easier for us to clean, sanitize, and reuse jars as part of our ongoing commitment to reducing waste and caring for our community.

So if you see a different jar on the shelf, don’t panic!

✨ Same magical kimchi. Same amount. Same mission. Just a better jar.

Keep an eye out for the new jars at your favorite retailers and farmers markets, and as always, thank you for supporting The Stone Soup Kitchen and our mission of Nurturing Community Through Food; Feeding All Who Hunger.

A Difficult Announcement ❤️

This is not a post we ever hoped to make.

Recently, The Stone Soup Kitchen suffered a catastrophic equipment failure that resulted in the loss of several thousand dollars worth of inventory. After a great deal of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to reduce our farmers market schedule for the remainder of the 2026 summer season.

As a result, we will no longer be vending at:
• University District
• Mercer Island
• Magnolia
• Capitol Hill
• Burien

To everyone in those communities who has supported us, thank you. We truly appreciate every customer, every conversation, and every jar of kimchi you’ve welcomed into your home.

The good news is this:

We’re not going away.

We’re already working to acquire the equipment we need and fully intend to return stronger than ever next year. This setback hurts, but it doesn’t change our mission or our commitment to serving our community.

You can still find us at:

Saturdays: Puyallup, Proctor, South Lake Union & Maple Valley

Sundays: Ballard, West Seattle & Auburn

Tuesdays: Renton (every other week) & Lakewood (every other week)
➡️ Next week: Renton

Wednesdays: Wallingford (every other week) & Columbia City (every other week)
➡️ Next week: Wallingford

Thursdays: Georgetown

Fridays: Phinney (every other week) & Madrona/Central District (every other week)
➡️ This week: Central District

Thank you for continuing to support our small business and the mission of The Stone Soup Collaborative — Nurturing community through food; feeding all who hunger.

We’ll see you at the market. ❤️

Sometimes the best part of running a farmers market stand isn’t selling food—it’s the people you meet along the way.

A big mahalo to my dear friend and soul brother, Dave Matthews, for stopping by the stand while home for a little break from tour.

Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate not only Dave’s music, but also the heart, kindness, and humanity behind it. The work that Dave and the band have done to support family farmers, local food systems, and communities through organizations like Farm Aid has inspired countless people, myself included.

It means a lot that someone whose art has touched so many lives would take a few minutes out of his day to stop by, share a hug, say hello, and support what we’re building through The Stone Soup Collaborative.

Our mission is simple:

“Nurturing community through food; feeding all who hunger.”

Brother, I hope you’re still enjoying your Nils’ Magic Kimchi. 😊

Wishing you, the band, and the entire crew a safe and successful tour. When you’re back home in Seattle, stop by again for another hug and to say hello. I’ll make sure you’re stocked back up with plenty of kimchi for the road.

Much aloha, my friend. 🤙❤️
