Big news at Raleigh Furniture Gallery!

Over the past twenty-plus years, I have had the opportunity to hire and work alongside many talented people. Few have made the impact that Ellen Tolbert has.

Ellen joined Raleigh Furniture Gallery in 2020, fresh out of college and eager to learn. It didn't take long to see that she possessed the intelligence, work ethic, and dedication needed to help lead this business into the future. Over the past six years, she has grown into a trusted advisor, a leader within our team, and someone our staff and customers rely on every day.

For the past several years, Ellen has effectively served as my second-in-command, helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the store and ensuring that things run smoothly whenever I am away. Because of her outstanding contributions and proven leadership, I am excited to announce that Ellen Tolbert has been promoted to Gallery Manager of Raleigh Furniture Gallery.

For our customers, this transition should feel very natural. Ellen already plays a major role in the operation of the store, and her commitment to providing excellent customer service remains unchanged. I am confident she will continue finding ways to make your experience with Raleigh Furniture Gallery even better.

As for me, don't worry—I'm not going anywhere. I will remain actively involved with the business, while spending more of my time focused on long-term planning and strategic growth.

Please join me in congratulating Ellen on this well-deserved promotion. I couldn't be prouder of what she has accomplished, and I am excited to see her lead Raleigh Furniture Gallery into its next chapter.

We hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend, whether you spent it out and about with family and friends or enjoyed a quiet, relaxing few days at home.

This week, we’re bringing in yet another strong and thoughtfully curated mix of new arrivals. The showroom continues to evolve with a wide variety of pieces—from dining chairs and richly hued rugs, to tall court cupboards, lowboys, and other unique case goods that bring both function and character into a space. Whether you’re searching for a standout statement piece or something more subtle to complete a room, there is plenty to explore right now
Beyond what’s featured in this newsletter, the showroom itself is constantly being refreshed and reimagined. It may still be late spring on the calendar, but the weather has already made its move—hot, bright, and firmly in summer territory. It’s the kind of heat that shifts life indoors and turns the home into the center of everything. There’s a lot to take in at the gallery right now — the kind of week where new arrivals keep catching your eye in every corner.

We’ve brought in a fresh collection of pieces throughout the gallery. While some have already made their way onto our website, many of our favorite finds are still waiting to be discovered in person. As much as we love seeing everyone shop online, we especially encourage you to stop by and experience the full selection for yourself.

At the center of it all is an elevated dining set that immediately caught our attention. This grand round pedestal table features black and gold detailing, coordinating dining chairs, and an optional lazy Susan — blending refined design with effortless functionality for gathering and serving family and guests.

Paired with the dining set is a matching sideboard and oversized mirror that complete the space beautifully. We styled the table with Baccarat crystal plates, glassware, and candlesticks for a look that feels timeless and ready for entertaining, then finished the space with a round hand-knotted rug beneath the table, and a brass chandelier overhead. These are just a few among several other new arrivals throughout the gallery.

This week, as promised, we’re excited to feature another king-size bed—this time with a completely different feel than the last two.

This stunning Restoration Hardware bedroom set leans into a more transitional style, with a rich wood tone that feels current and refined while still giving a subtle nod to traditional design. We’ve been listening closely to your requests—and one thing we’ve heard loud and clear is the need for more king beds and complete bedroom sets. We’re excited to keep delivering on that!

As promised, we’re featuring another fantastic bedroom set this week. This week, we’re shining a spotlight on a handful of pieces we truly can’t believe are still here. Some have been with us for a few months (or even longer), and we’re honestly a bit astonished they haven’t been scooped up yet. These are the kinds of special finds that usually don’t linger—beautiful, unique, and full of character.

We’re especially amazed that our European 19th century hand-painted wardrobe is still here. As one of our most “saved” pieces online, we truly thought it would be spoken for the moment it arrived. These are the types of pieces you see featured in magazines and sought after by high-end designers. Yes, it carries a tremendous amount of character and may not be for every home—but that’s exactly what makes it so special. The pop of bright blue could be exactly what a room needs, and the perfect starting point to design the entire space around.

Another standout we can’t believe is still available is an incredibly elegant bar cabinet. Tall and narrow, with beautiful wood inlay and a warm marble top, it makes an immediate impression—but the real surprise comes when it’s opened to reveal its thoughtfully designed interior. It’s the kind of piece that transforms a home bar into something truly unforgettable.
