Light is Love Soy Candles Welcome to my candle shop! I pour all of my candles by hand in small batches.

• phthalate free fragrances
• lead and zinc free wicks farming.

Welcome to my little shop! I've been making candles since 2011 for gifts, small batches for friends and I've participated in several Christmas or Holiday Bazaars. As a stay-at-home mom I'm always looking for ways to bring in a little extra income. With all of the business out there selling their products on Facebook I figured, why not try to sell my candles? My candles are made with 100% soy wax,

they are phthalate free (which means they shouldn't give you a headache) and I use lead/zinc free wicks. I also don't use dyes in my candles unless I have a special request/order. Did you know? Soy wax burns cleaner and longer and supports U.S. How did I come up with the name "Light is Love Candles"?

2 Samuel 22:29 says, "You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light." It is my hope that my candles are a symbol and reminder that God can turn darkness into light in the same way a candle illuminates an entire room. May they be a reminder of God's love for you!

Probably one of my favorite new scents is available in our online store! I think this scent is perfect for spring if you’re the type who doesn’t love florals. It’s an earthy and silky blend of mahogany wood and Shea butter. I call it one of my “spa” scents because if you light this and close your eyes, you just might feel like you’re getting treated 😉

There is something so satisfying about pouring wax. Maybe it’s the aroma that fills my home. Maybe it’s the way the clear golden liquid solidifies and becomes opaque white. Maybe it’s just the rhythm I get in when I pour and how satisfying it is when I don’t spill 😂 (where my lefties at? 💁🏼‍♀️)

Today was hard. The collision of my kids dragging their feet during homeschool, filling orders, a teething baby and a preschooler playing ninjas and nerf guns LOUDLY ALL DAY has left me depleted and frustrated.
Maybe I can’t do all the things. Maybe I should send my kids to school. Maybe I’m biting off more than I can chew with my business.
Do I really care if I can’t walk through my battle zone living room? These are all thoughts I’ve had today....
So what did I do?! Well I’d love to say that I pulled myself up from my bootstraps or had some amazing quiet time with God that gave me the push I needed but that’s not what happened.
I napped 😐 with the baby... for 2 hours!!! I gave my big kids their tablets and I just gave in to REST....my body really really needed it. Sometimes self-care is just simple and it requires us to just STOP 🛑 which is really really hard for me to do most of the time. But sleep deprivation can get my mind going in some crazy directions. So I need to recognize my needs and take care of them so I can better wrap my mind around all those thoughts 👆🏻
Anyway, tell me about your day today! I hope yours was better than mine! 😂 ❤️

I am excited to announce some new business photography done by ! Can’t wait to share some pics of our photo session, but for now, I wanted to say “hello”, especially to those of you who may be new around here! My name is Jayne Hopkins and I’m the and of this small business (aka the one woman show 😂). Although I run my business “solo”, I really can’t take all the credit because is my backbone and main supporter— and he also runs the show with our 4 kiddos when I’m busy. You didn’t see me much in 2020, but let me tell you— I sure missed you! I promise you’ll see me more in 2021 and I can’t wait to setup at some of my favorite markets again! I started making soy candles in 2012 and my hobby became my side gig in 2017 and now I literally am not sure how I run this whole thing without an intern or part-time person 🤪 when I’m not Candlemaking, at a market or dropping off stock in local shops, you’ll find me homeschooling and trying to clean an always messy home 🤦🏼‍♀️ our family also enjoys being outside and riding bikes! 2020 has meant a lot of after bedtime dates with my hubby watching the newest period show/movie 😍 and ordering food in for a “date” night 💁🏼‍♀️ (anyone else?) .

MLK Day is always a day of reflection for me. Usually it’s filled with gratitude for the privilege I have of raising biracial children and the sacrifices that were made on my behalf in order to make that even a possibility. Not so long ago, I would not have been allowed to marry my husband because of his race. There’s so much I could say but there are a lot of voices out there. So I will just leave this quote here along with one of my favorite verses that reminds me of what love looks like: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Never stop pursuing love. Let go of anger. Take a deep breath and pray. Ask God to reveal to you how to love others better. Start by loving yourself and forgiving yourself. He already has.❤️
