Thompson-Lynch Company first opened in the downtown section of Raleigh, North Carolina in 1925 when two merchants joined together to form an appliance and lighting company. When Thompson-Lynch opened its doors, there were towns in the surrounding area that had only acquired electricity a few years earlier. The business moved from the downtown district to Cameron Village in 1978. Cameron Village, c

ompleted in 1949, is the first shopping center of its kind in the southeastern United States. The family has owned businesses, including a children's clothing store, a long-established soda shop, and a restaurant within the complex since it first opened. Thompson-Lynch has called the shopping mecca home for 33 years and counting. We offer quality work at a reasonable price, and we make over 80% of the products in our shop. Over time we learn our customers preferences and enjoy helping to find or create the perfect lighting, from floor lamps to table lamps and from task lamps to chandeliers. Often a favorite collectable, heirloom, or sentimental item is brought to us to be made into a lamp. Valuing both long-time and new customers, we build friendships along with the lamps we create. The same family has owned Thompson-Lynch since 1977 and it truly is a family business, building upon a tradition of excellence in lighting and repair.

Rare Loredano Rosin Murano Glass Sculptures on Lucite

đź“•Loredano Rosin was an Italian sculptor best known for his traditional use of Murano glass to depict stylized figures and animals. By employing an ancient Italian technique from Calcedonia, he used silver nitrate to create subtle color striations in his figurines. Rosin worked as a master glass blower for Salviati & Company, where he notably collaborated with artists such as Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall in realizing their vision in glass. Born in 1936 in Venice, Italy, he studied with Romano Zanelli and Cocui Saor as a teenager before establishing his own studio, where he worked with his brothers Mirko and Dino Rosin. Today, his works are held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, among others. The artist died in 1992 in Venice, Italy.
