You say Trash, I see TV console. I was out walking the dog one morning & saw this piece on the curb. I ran home to wake up Joe to help me trash pick it. He was game & I even knocked on the neighbors door to make sure they meant it for the trash.
You see - this piece was the perfect size with workable details for the tv console I had been envisioning for my tv room. I could not believe what great shape it was in & it was a Thomasville!!
I soon realized it was kicked to the curb because it had lost a back piece of the footed leg. Easily fixed by a different neighbor's son who crafted a replica piece in his high school shop class.
Sanding, removal of center drawers for a change to shelves, primer, high gloss paint, (I tried a foam roller with the paint but didn't feel much control in the application so I switched back to a brush.) I used the original hardware as it was in good shape and nicely detailed. All this got me a beautiful console for my tv room.
My dog loves it too. Sorry this piece isn't for sale. Just a post to show all the life left in this piece that was put to the curb.

These BROWN BETTYS needed an overhaul. They were sturdy, had some unique shapes and classic detailing of caning. Caned furniture dates back to the 1660's and was typically used for the seats and backs of wooden chairs. Covering them with black glossy paint and giving them new seat covers gives them a pretty new look.
