How we got started.

This little adventure began two weeks before Christmas 2016. Founder of Lucky Trees of Life was scouring the internet looking for inspiration in craft like things for horse friends. Christmas gift exchange was in less then a week. I stumbled across another artists HorseShoe Trees of Life and thought, hey! Perfect! How hard could it be to figure out how to copy cat that for friends and family?

Well... to be frank.... a lot harder then I thought. The first one took almost 12 hours to make and the technique was just not there. I had limited ideas on color schemes and no skill at all making them. The early versions are posted here on our page - it’s especially fun to go back and see the progression on skill and technique.

Summer of 2017 my mother was visiting from Oregon and wanted to learn how to make the Lucky Trees I was making. She is coming up on that elderly phase of life, unemployed, and needed something to keep her busy. Thankfully I’ve honed my skill and techniques pretty well over the past year and was able to guide her through the process.

Today she makes most of the Lucky Trees as I am not in a great spot in my life right now and only work my skills on specialized Custom Orders. In addition I’m also pursuing my horses again (14 total - 2 stallions the rest mares... hopefully all will be preggo soon and next year will be baby watch and making Lucky Trees). Finishing college (5 months to go and Ill be official on paper), working on a 4ftx4ft Winter Theme One-of-a-Kind Wall Tree -- this one may or may not end up for sale.
