Inspired by the Goddess Persephone

Persephone, the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, was the wife of Hades and the Queen of the Underworld. She was a dual deity, since, in addition to presiding over the dead, as the daughter of Demeter, she was also a Goddess of Spring's bounty and fertility. The myth of her abduction by Hades was frequently used to explain the change of the seasons, the eternal cycle of nature's death and rebirth.

Persephone would travel back and forth between the underground and above, giving her the ability to see and hear through the deepest, darkest of places as well as the brightest. Although she was forced to marry Hades and split her time between worlds, she refused to wallow, and instead flourished as Queen and came to be known as a fair and just decider of fates.

I chose Black Currant Absinthe a sophisticated cocktail of a scent. It begins with delicate saffron threads, sweet anise, and a whisper of eucalyptus. Luscious black currants and blackberries are at the heart with a hint earthy basil. Dark musk, tonka bean, fennel, and amber enhance the intensity of the dark fruit in this rich fragrance.

Blackcurrant berries were known to be used to muster courage, especially by those going on a solitary journey or quest. Their color associates them with the throat Chakra and I feel speaking your truth to be an essential part of self growth and rebirth.

Made with December's Cold Moon water. It was the last full moon of 2023 bringing a transformative energy perfect for introspection, emotional release, and healing.

I need opinions please!! I was going for subtly blunt but I feel it may be a bit too subtle. Maybe the background should be lighter so the words are darker? I don't know so that's what I would love to have your opinions on please!! What would you change?

Now for the background on the "F**k It" inspiration. I had such an amazing relationship with my dad. I could always go to him with anything. He's been gone over 16 years now. Along with the memories he gave alot of advice that has stuck with me and helped to navigate through life without him. It's a huge part of who I am. But the most simple and effective answer to whatever s**t life may be throwing, was and always will be, "F**k It." We had f**k it chips made to give out to anyone who needed one at his service. However inappropriate some may view that, it was the most appropriate when it came to my dad. I wanted to continue that in his honor. So now when a f**k it is needed I just light it up and watch the f**ks dance away with every flicker of the flame🕯
If you ever feel the need to light some f**k it's too I'm your girl 🌙💜

The following words are from a post on my personal page where I spoke of the inspiration for this candle in remembrance of Walter O'Rourke. I've since been making them for his friends and family. I finished these up and am now waiting on my order of vessels to get in to continue making more. I will start pouring as soon as they arrive. "When I told you I would make you a candle this wasn't what it was supposed to be. I think I speak for everyone when I say how much I loved your "tip of the days." And when I think of what I would've said to you had I known how much you were hurting, the word that sums it up is Stay. So this one's in honor of you Sir Walter. Even though the world is darker without you in it, the light you left will shine on."
