Don’t you just love the little surprises life has waiting for you?

There I was, making my usual rounds through the booths at The Emporium, minding my own business, when a charming old clock caught my eye.

“Westclox”, a familiar name.

I reached for my black light which occasionally doubles as a laser pointer to exhaust 2 indoor cats.

The shop walls fell away. The music faded.
It was just the two of us, circling one another.

The most beautiful green glow.

Could it be?

The world came crashing back into place as I rushed to grab the GQ GMC-800 Geiger counter from my purse. (Because, of course I keep a Geiger counter in my purse.)

The small plastic box clicked and buzzed wildly as the numbers climbed.
