Please join us for PEACE POLE DEDICATION on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 7 PM at the Sundial Bridge- South Entrance area.

The community is invited to this special event and encouraged to wear cultural attire! The 7 languages for "May Peace Prevail on Earth" will be spoken by native speakers. Art Garcia, Wintu, will offer a Native American Blessing. Light refreshments following.

The Peace Pole Project is funded by a grant from the Community Foundation Of The North State.

The blessing ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. at 26240 7th St., Vina.

On June 10, 2026, the Southern Baptist Convention voted (by a margin of 74.6%) to ban churches that have female pastors or let women preach on Sunday mornings. 😥
AND... I'm happy to report that this past week, the California-Nevada Conference, The United Methodist Church 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟳𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵. 🥳
For the past 70 years, these women have fought misogyny and discrimination in their seminaries, in their communities, and in their churches.
Nevertheless, they have persisted and led us in amazing ways.
For the past 45 years of my life, female clergy have shaped my faith, my life, and my career in countless and wonderful ways. ❤️
If you know any women who are pastors, PLEASE thank them for their tenacious commitment to following God's call in their lives. :)

Horrific attack at a mosque in San Diego. Shasta Interfaith supports diversity of faith. We honor and support our Islamic brothers and sisters as they move through this travesty of hate.

The shooting, which authorities are investigating as a possible hate crime, left at least five people dead, including two suspected shooters.

The Peace Lantern Processional is to honor diversity and to create an experience of peace… and an experience of beauty. As we stood together on Th, May 14, 2026, we stood in support of peace and in support of diversity. Each individual present, whether a lantern bearer or the public who came to witness the processional, signifies support of such!

Each handcrafted lantern carries on its side a Chinese symbol for peace, a symbol representing a faith tradition and 2 peace prayers.

Others participating represented cultures of:
African, Japanese, Mien, India, Lao, Native American, Hispanic, Filipino.

Organizational representatives present were from: Redding Rancheria, Caltrans, One Safe Place, Children’s Legacy Center, Equity Labs, Shasta County District Attorney’s Office, the Sierra Club, NorCal Outreach, LGBTQ+, City of Shasta Lake, Shasta College, Dignity Health and other community members.
