What makes a vineyard’s story begin long before the bottle? At Trella, it starts beneath the vines. 🌱

Trella’s vines are grafted onto disease-resistant rootstock and planted in a mix of Oakland-Nonpareil-Sutherlin soils and Abegg gravelly sandy loam.

The vineyard receives an average of 41–43 inches of rain annually, with summer temperatures in the low 80s. Warm days and cool evenings are part of the Umpqua Valley’s remarkable growing landscape.

The family’s guiding belief is that vineyard choices shape both the w**es and the future health of the environment.

Natural cover crops help minimize erosion. Drip irrigation reduces water waste. Habitats for owls and bats encourage natural predators. Each practice contributes to a thriving ecosystem and balance in the vineyard.

Discover more of Trella’s story tomorrow at Vintage Nights!

TONIGHT — RAPTOR RIDGE AT VINTAGE NIGHTS!

Friday, October 2 • 4–7 PM

Tonight we're bringing a little of Oregon's Chehalem Mountains to the coast as Raptor Ridge W**ery joins us at Mindpower Gallery!
And they're bringing a terrific lineup.

Joining us tonight is Stephen Flock, Hospitality Manager for Raptor Ridge —and tonight we'll have six very different w**es to explore with him:

Grüner Veltliner • Pinot Gris • Sauvignon Blanc • Auxerrois • Gamay Noir • Pinot Noir

Don't recognize every grape on that list? Perfect. That's part of the fun of Vintage Nights.

AND TONIGHT IS ALSO A LAST CHANCE OF SORTS...
Our Museum of Techno Art exhibition, Exostoria Mechanica: Lost Fragments, is entering its final days. Artists will begin picking up work next week, with the exhibition fully closing October 10.

If you've been meaning to see it, come tonight and see the whole show while it's still here.

TOMORROW NIGHT: SIX W**ES. ONE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE GUEST. AND ONE LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE MUSEUM OF TECHNO ART AS A COMPLETE EXHIBITION.

Tomorrow's Vintage Night at Mindpower Gallery brings Raptor Ridge W**ery from Oregon's Chehalem Mountains to Reedsport—and they're bringing us quite a lineup.

Joining us will be Stephen Flock, Hospitality Manager for Raptor Ridge, whose path through the w**e world has included retail w**e education, tasting-room management, harvest, blending trials and events.
Stephen especially enjoys the part we love about Vintage Nights: sharing what makes a w**e, vineyard and region interesting.

And he'll have plenty to talk about.

FRIDAY'S SIX-W**E LINEUP
Grüner Veltliner
Pinot Gris
Sauvignon Blanc
Auxerrois
Gamay Noir
Pinot Noir

If there are grapes on that list you've never tried—or perhaps never even heard of—that's exactly why you should come.

Raptor Ridge has been making Oregon w**e since 1995, specializing in single-vineyard Pinot Noir alongside an unusually interesting collection of European varieties from vineyards across the Willamette Valley. At their own Tuscowallame Estate, Pinot Noir and Grüner Veltliner grow in the Laurelwood soils of the Chehalem Mountains. Raptor Ridge W**ery

And there's another reason this particular Friday matters.

ONE LAST VINTAGE NIGHT WITH THE COMPLETE MUSEUM OF TECHNO ART EXHIBITION

Exostoria Mechanica: Lost Fragments has transformed the gallery for the past month with strange machines, found objects, imagined histories and the work of nine wonderfully inventive artists.

Tomorrow will be the final Vintage Night when the exhibition can be experienced as the complete showcase. Artists will begin picking up their work next week, and the exhibition will be gone by October 10. So, if you've been telling yourself, “I still need to come see that show,” this is the Friday to do it.

Come meet Stephen. Discover six very different Oregon w**es. Learn why Raptor Ridge began at a kitchen counter, why their estate is called Tuscowallame — “place where the owls dwell”—and take one more walk through the complete Museum of Techno Art exhibition. Raptor Ridge says its estate is regularly visited by several raptor species, including barn owls, peregrine falcons and red-tailed hawks.

FROM CHERRY ORCHARD TO VINEYARD 🌿🦉

Every vineyard has a beginning. For Raptor Ridge’s Tuscowallame Estate, it began with an old cherry orchard in Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains.

Scott and Annie Shull purchased the property in 2000. A year of preparation followed—removing more than 2,000 old cherry trees and working the soil to clear their roots before planting the first vineyard block in 2001.

The vineyard grew in stages, with additional blocks planted in 2004 and 2007. Each was named for the vineyard steward who planted it: Adalfo Jimenez, Macario Ramirez, and Dustin Miller—a lasting acknowledgment of the people behind the vines.

Today, that former orchard is Tuscowallame, a name Raptor Ridge translates as “place where the owls dwell.”

Join us Friday as Vintage Nights explores the people, landscape, and history behind Raptor Ridge W**ery.

IT STARTED AT A KITCHEN COUNTER… 🦉

This Friday, Vintage Nights turns the page to Raptor Ridge W**ery—a story of curiosity, partnership, and a home among Oregon’s vines.

Scott Shull founded Raptor Ridge in 1995 after w**emaking with coworkers grew into something more than a hobby. Together, Scott and Annie welcomed early visitors at their own kitchen counter. That personal welcome became part of the w**ery’s enduring spirit.

In 2000, they purchased an old cherry orchard in the Chehalem Mountains. It became Tuscowallame Estate—a name Raptor Ridge translates as “place where the owls dwell.”

People, place, and the wildlife that shares the ridge: there’s a wonderful story to discover.

Today Robert Van Wyk brings ROBULOUS W**E COMPANY to Mindpower Gallery.

The name ROBULOUS didn't come from a branding agency or months of market research. It traces back to an accidental piece of artwork Robert created at a former job. Coworkers hung the mistake above his desk—and kept adding to it until the accidental creation developed a personality and life of its own.

An accident became art.
Eventually, it became a w**e company.

That slightly unconventional spirit fits Liz and Robert rather well. Robulous w**es have included everything from tiny-production single-vineyard bottlings to an extraordinary white blend created from 11 grape varieties, 12 vineyards and three Oregon AVAs—a w**e Robert described as being about collaboration and community.

Come meet one of the makers behind those wonderfully colorful octopus labels and discover the stories, vineyards and community relationships behind the w**es.

And while you're here, keep exploring the gallery.
Our continuing Art Spotlight is the Museum of Techno Art's:
EXOSTORIA MECHANICA: LOST FRAGMENTS

Art, w**e, curious machines, unusual history, two very interesting people—and possibly more information about the historical capacity of a w**e butt than you expected to learn on a Friday evening.

Sounds like Vintage Nights to us.

A VINEYARD WORTH SAVING

There is another chapter behind the colorful labels of Robulous W**e Company, and it begins during one of Southern Oregon's most difficult years.

Following the devastating 2020 Almeda and Obenchain fires, people throughout the Rogue Valley mobilized to help neighbors who had lost homes and livelihoods. Rogue Food Unites grew from that response, working with local restaurants, farms and food businesses to get meals to displaced residents. The organization has since provided more than 2.2 million meals to disaster-impacted community members.

For Liz Wan and Robert Van Wyk, relationships forged within that Southern Oregon community eventually led Liz to an old hillside vineyard outside Jacksonville.

Big Bear Ridge had been left largely untended. Instead of simply taking fruit, Liz and Robert saw a vineyard worth bringing back.
They spent three vintages doing corrective pruning and helping restore the vines. By 2023, Big Bear Ridge was producing fruit that could carry the Robulous name.

Those bright octopus labels suddenly have a much deeper story behind them.

IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME...

This Friday, Vintage Nights welcomes ROBULOUS W**E COMPANY.

More than twenty years ago, Liz Wan and Robert Van Wyk met through a friend. Their first overnight getaway together?

It turned into two weeks working harvest internships in Napa and Sonoma.

As Robert later wrote about the beginning of Robulous, “we all knew that it was only a matter of time.”

But that “matter of time” turned out to be more than two decades.

Liz and Robert built lives and careers around w**e—w**emaking, production, distribution, w**ery management and championing the small producers who make Oregon w**e so interesting. Liz has been making w**e for producers and custom-crush facilities since 2013, and together they dreamed of eventually having a small label of their own.

In 2021, that dream finally became Robulous W**e Company.

And if you think this is going to be an overly serious w**e story, you haven't met Robulous yet.

🐙 We'll explain the octopus later.

TONIGHT — VINTAGE NIGHTS AT THE GALLERY

Tonight we welcome Peter William Vineyard of Medford to Mindpower Gallery—and this is an especially fun lineup for discovering the range of Southern Oregon w**e.

Tonight we’re featuring:
Sauvignon Blanc • Chardonnay • Grenache Rosé • Tempranillo • GSM • Malbec

But Vintage Nights is about more than what’s in the glass. It’s about discovering the people and stories behind it.

Dr. Peter Adesman was a student, collector and w**e educator for decades before he became a vineyard owner. His long-running educational blind tastings encouraged people to compare, question and really pay attention to what they were experiencing. Eventually, that lifetime of learning led Peter and his wife, Dr. Robin Miller, to plant their own vineyard on the hills above Medford.

And tonight we get the special treat of welcoming Fred Gold to the gallery.

Fred is Peter William Vineyard’s General Manager and Director of Marketing, bringing more than 50 years of experience in the w**e industry—from retail, wholesale distribution and importing to professional w**e judging and consulting for restaurants, hotels and cruise lines.

So bring your questions! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet someone with an extraordinary amount of w**e knowledge and discover Peter William Vineyard through six very different w**es.

AND DON'T STOP AT THE W**E ROOM...

Our Art Spotlight continues in the gallery with the Museum of Techno Art's extraordinary:

EXOSTORIA MECHANICA: LOST FRAGMENTS

Wander the exhibition. Look closely at the machines, assemblages and mysterious artifacts. Talk about what you see. Then come back and compare notes.

That's exactly the kind of evening Vintage Nights is meant to be.
