Chainsaw mill is up and running! Slabbed out an ash tree that came down in our woods during a storm last year. Aside from the beautiful live edge slabs, it also produces piles of sawdust! If you ever feel like you need a testosterone boost - run a chainsaw mill for an hour or two!! 💪🏼

Something different from tables, furniture and cutting boards!

It was a no-brainer when Erin from approached me and asked if I could create a lending library for her shop. She told me she previously had one in this spot but it was destroyed in a storm. Since my family loves books, I thought this would be a great project to take on!

I created this design based on Erin’s specifications. The exterior is wood sided and primed (to be painted) with a cedar shingled roof. I used acrylic material for the doors. And for the Out of the Woodwork touch, I paneled the interior and made adjustable shelving from red oak.

If you’re local stop by and grab or share a book. When you do, make sure you check out the gift shop!!! It’s full of unique treats and gifts. You’ll definitely find something your wife would like. I know!!! I watched Aimee poke around for quite some time! 📚

Fireplace project is finally complete ✅! Hand forged corbels from installed on our spalted maple mantle and we are loving the transformation. Swipe ➡️ for a more detailed shot and to see how the room started when we moved in.

Couldn’t resist snapping this moment as the sun is streaming in on a frigid winter Sunday.
A small glimpse into our dining room made complete with this custom oak buffet and modern-vintage plate rack. The idea for the plate rack was to display some of our Polish Pottery. We lucked out with the hand forged copper hooks we found that bring out other copper details we have in the space. The buffet was pigmented (not stained!) Using techniques and products from and all of the wood surfaces were finished with Odie’s Oil and Wood Butter.

One of two dining tables completed just in time to make their debuts for Thanksgiving! First up is this gorgeous black walnut and black epoxy river trestle table. Custom created to fit into our clients’ newly renovated kitchen/dining space. We hope many happy memories over yummy meals and family games will be made at this table.
