What are we seeing at the highest level of interior design right now?
This Architectural Digest look inside the 2026 San Francisco Decorator Showcase captures something I’ve believed throughout my career: exceptional interiors aren’t created by following a single trend. They’re built through layers—art, craftsmanship, materiality, history, lighting, and above all, a strong point of view.
I’m particularly drawn to the return of expressive color, sculptural lighting, richly treated surfaces, and rooms that feel collected rather than simply “decorated.”
After more than two decades designing homes, I find that the most successful interiors are the ones that can evolve with their owners. They feel personal. They have soul. And they become more interesting with time.
There is plenty of inspiration in this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Architectural Digest gives us a beautiful look inside.
A home is never really done. It’s curated over a lifetime.
