If you’ve ever spent time doing machine embroidery you know there are moments you think this thought… And typically, the biggest culprit is hooping wrong, or choosing the wrong stabilizer! I do it too, even with years and years of experience. Every fall, I bring in an expert to teach us everything they know about proper stabilizer techniques, and our next session is this Friday the 9th or Saturday the 10th.

Placement and positioning in embroidery can be a draaaag. Get it wrong and you’ve ruined an item. That’s why I depend on my snowman sticker to do the hard work for me. I don’t even remember how I centered designs before I had the camera tool. It takes all of the guesswork out of angles and alignment. Everyone always talks about the 10 needle and the 6 needle, but did you know there’s a single needle “free-arm” machine that also can do hats, get into bags, and onesies?! 🪡 sure, it only has one needle, but it’s really easy to re thread, and the sticker shock is less than the multi needle versions. It’s a really great stepping stone from your flat bed 5x7 or 4x4 machine. It even has a really nice hoop size of 8x12!! We’re gearing up for a huge weekend as the classroom sponsor at the Pinterest Convention in Fort Worth! 24 classroom machines, insane deals on multi needle embroidery machines, entry level embroidery deals, and prices way too low to advertise. If you’ve ever been to an event at Stitchhouse and had a great time, just know that there is countless hours of prep work that goes into making it feel that way! From the layout, to the seating chart, snacks, notions, educator schedules and more. Every event is kind of like hosting a mini wedding. There are so many details I obsess over to make sure that things happen smoothly on event day. Things aren’t always totally smooth, but that’s to be expected too!

We’re in prep mode for our big OESD “Stitched It”event starting this Friday!

At this event we will spend two days in the hoop of an embroidery and sewing machine making and COMPLETING different projects utilizing a ton of fun techniques…. It’s the first of its kind from OESD and we’re excited to be the host!

Today we started calling the roster of people and discovered we had ONE additional spot available. Even though we’ve checked our list dozens of times! I want to give this spot away to someone who really will soak in all of this fun this Friday and Saturday.
