It’s been a little quiet over here, but don’t worry… I’m still building. 🔨

This set of built-ins was part of a recent project I worked on, and I’m always grateful when calls me in to help bring a space to life.

She handled all the styling (and as always, absolutely nailed it), and I came in for the build.

I may not post here as often these days, but DIYMomByGrace is still very much in action behind the scenes.

More projects coming soon.

Now y’all know I’m all about creating spaces where the whole soul can be at rest.
And what better place to start than a dorm room? Let me tell you, dorms are tricky… you really have to get creative!

At first we did the basics… a temporary headboard, rug, curtains (too long 🤦🏽‍♀️) flag, etc., but a few weeks after move-in (thankfully just 2 hours away 😉) we went back in and made it right:
• Hemmed the curtains ✂️
• Lined the wall with kraft paper + painter’s tape, then added peel-and-stick wallpaper 🙌
• Layered LED lights right on top for the glow up

Now this room feels like a calm sanctuary. 🖤 Because when the environment speaks to the senses, the soul can finally exhale. Now go get that degree son 😉

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here 💚
But f anyone knows… sending a child to college is a whole project in itself. Between prom, graduation, parties, dorm shopping, and finally moving day—whew! 😭 But of course, after we moved him in, we realized the store-bought dorm risers weren’t tall enough to access the top drawers of his bins. So what did Mommy do? Opened the shop. 💪🏽 I built custom risers out of 2x2s—strong enough to hold about 800 lbs easy, and painted them black to blend right in. Functional and solid.

All that to say-I’m still around, just posting less while focusing on my business and working toward my certification in Multi-Sensory Environments. It’s been such a blessing to combine my background as an LSW, my love for building, and my passion for creating spaces that actually heal the soul.

DIY will always be part of me! It just keeps transforming season by season. 🙏🏽

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted 😌
But I’ve been building.
Building spaces.
Building systems.
Building up my family… & My oldest is about to graduate so I’m all in my feelings 😭
But most of all—building in faith.

This Mother’s Day, I’m reflecting on how much of motherhood happens behind the scenes.
It’s in the quiet, in the messy, in the unseen moments where we’re holding it all together.

Mothers don’t just raise children.
We build safe havens. We build peace. We build hope.
To every mom who’s been busy pouring into others and forgotten to post the progress like me 😉 this one’s for you.
Keep building. Keep becoming.

Happy Mother’s Day.
From my heart and my toolbox 😉 to yours.

Sometimes the best projects come from a solid Plan B. I set out to build an 8-tote ladder system for my basement storage room, but after a slight miscalculation on depth, I had to pivot. Instead of forcing the original design, I adapted—and that’s how I got my new shelving unit.
The ladder tote system still gives me easy-access storage, keeping things organized without the hassle of stacking and unstacking heavy bins. But now, with the addition of the custom-built shelving unit, I have even more space for everything else—seasonal decor, tools, and those “I’ll need this someday” items.
This project is a reminder that DIY is all about adjusting and improving. Even when things don’t go exactly as planned, there’s always a creative solution waiting to be built. PS- now we don’t have to pull every single out when HVAC folks come to service the unit 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🫣

Timehop just reminded me of a major game-changing project from 7 years ago! Back in my old house, I transformed our front hall closet into a functional mudroom—complete with a bench, shoe storage, and even faux shiplap.

This was hands-down one of my favorite DIYs. It looked amazing, added so much purpose to the space, and made everyday life so much easier. Proof that small spaces can have a big impact!
Would you ever swap a closet for a mudroom? Let me know! ⬇️

Monday Memory ✨
Six years ago, I couldn’t find a kitchen table that fit our space—so I built one. Custom. Just for our home.
It was my first time building a table- and definitely wasn’t the last 😉, and let me tell you, that table is SOLID. It’s been through family meals, game nights, and plenty of creative projects. Now, it sits in our basement, still standing strong. A reminder that sometimes, when you can’t find what you need, you build it yourself. SN- I redid that entire kitchen! 💪🏽

Midweek check-in, DIYers! Wanna know what my first project of the year is? I’m finally adding this to my basement—it’s been on my list forever!
A tote storage rack is the perfect build right now, especially with all the decluttering, organizing, and putting Christmas decorations away. This should go well—it’s the same concept as the laundry hamper organizer I built, just on a bigger scale. And the best part…. ONLY 3 materials needed… 2x4s, screws, and bins!
Stay tuned and watch me bring this project to life!

Happy Monday, DIYers!
My favorite kind of project? Closet makeovers! Whether it’s a pantry, hallway, bedroom, or linen closet, I love creating spaces that feel organized and functional. Last year, I completed 4 closet transformations, and each one brought so much clarity and joy to my clients.

What’s your favorite space to refresh and organize? Let’s kick off this week with a little inspiration! 🛠️ Remember: Every great project starts with a single step.
