Job Listing: Farmers Market Sales Assistant – Tybee Island Candle Company
Position: Farmers Market Sales Assistant
Location: Tybee Island, GA – Local Farmers Market
Hours: Monday only, approximately 3 hours or more per shift
• Pre-market prep: Load candles and supplies by 2:00 PM, setup begins at 3:00 PM
• Market hours: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (You will primarily assist with setup, and I will take over at 5:00 PM.)
Pay: $13/hour + Free Wax Melt Each Shift + Candle Incentive
• Candle Incentive: Sell at least 10 candles in one shift and choose a free regular-size candle!
Job Type: Part-time, Monday only, with future opportunities

Tybee Island Candle Company is a small, handcrafted candle business dedicated to bringing high-quality, beautifully scented candles to our community. Our candles are made from all-natural, American-grown biodegradable soy wax, ensuring a clean burn and eco-friendly product.
We are proud to partner with Mothers of Veteran Su***de, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and supporting families affected by veteran su***de. As part of our mission, we donate $0.50 from every candle sale to help raise su***de awareness for veterans and their families. Additionally, $1 from every merchandise purchase helps send someone to rehab who is trying to turn their life around.
We are looking for a friendly, reliable person to help sell our candles at the local farmers market and assist with pre-market preparations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Pre-Market Prep: Load candles and supplies by 2:00 PM to prepare for the market.
• Market Setup: Arrive by 3:00 PM to assist with setting up the tent, tables, displays, and products before the market starts at 4:00 PM.
• Customer Engagement (Optional): You are welcome to stay and assist with selling after I arrive at 5:00 PM, or you can leave once I take over. If you stay and help, you’ll receive a free candle each shift as a thank-you for your continued support.
Future Opportunities:
• There will be more opportunities to sell and be part of the Tybee Island Candle Company team beyond just Mondays! We also participate in markets on Saturdays and events throughout the year. This could be a great chance to grow with the business and gain more experience.
Requirements:
• Reliable and punctual.
• Friendly and comfortable talking to customers (if you decide to stay for sales).
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs (for loading and setting up, including the tent).
• Basic math skills for handling payments (if you stay for sales).
• Experience in retail, sales, or farmers markets is a plus but not required.
• Access to reliable transportation for loading and arriving at the market.
