The National Trusts Uppark House 🌳

In 1989 Uppark had a major fire. The ÂŁ20 million restoration project for the main house required the work of specialist craftspeople in order to restore the objects and interiors within the house. We were
priveliged to be asked to be part of the project, restoring not 1 but 5 wallpapers!

The restored wallpapers are still in the house today and are used in a variety of projects by designers around the world.

Two petite trellis designs made from dots and
floral motifs, each from different eras but both
perfect for decorating smaller rooms that call out for some heritage charm.

Both designs are hand block printed, adding interest to the walls of any room. Dashwood can also be digitally printed because as we know littles ones can brush against walls when building dens and creating memories.

Designs: Petworth Trellis c. 1910, Dashwood c. 1780

We’ve moved!

Our new studio home is located in the beautiful
market town of Marlborough, Wiltshire.

The 17th century building is full of history, with views of the widest high street in the UK and roof tops which Mary Poppins would be proud of! (our wallpapers were in the 2nd Mary Poppins movie incase you didn’t know..) ☂️

‘Kew Green’ a beloved wallpaper of ours which we’ve brought back to life from our archive.

The design was Inspired by Indian ‘chintz’ and was found behind paneling in the 1st floor Reception Room of a house near the Kew Botanical Gardens, hence the name ‘Kew Green’.

📺 As seen on: You might have seen it on the ITV period drama ‘Belgravia’ which aired in 2020.

We love working on bespoke projects, restoring wallpapers that might have been forgotten underneath years of paint and paper.

Taking you back to 1900 with the help of who we had the pleasure of working with to restore and produce three glorious wallpapers for his Victorian Cottage restoration.

Using fragments of the wallpapers found, these papers were redrawn and printed bringing them back to life and hung in their rightful home in the Chapel Street Cottage.

Victorian authenticity at its finest, perfect for period dramas or a project wanting to capture the era through pattern. Custom papers available, discover more at hamiltonweston.com

It’s Turners birthday! 🎉

In 1813, Turner built a small villa, Sandycombe Lodge,
near the Thames at Twickenham. We worked with the Turner’s Trust team who found a fragment of a wallpaper in the house to restore it to it’s former beauty. It is now hung in the bedroom of the house.

Being hand block printed with the flowers in one block and the trellis in another, we loved the trellis on it’s own and decided to recolour it to suit modern day projects. I wonder which colourway Turner would prefer!

Design: Sandycombe Trellis and Sandycombe Lodge

The making of Botanical Studies was something a little different for .Roberts, turning a studio wall of paintings into a wallpaper design, inspired by the fruit and flora foraged at Flora’s home in Dorset.

We can’t wait to see the design used in a study or even a kitchen, bringing playfulness to the home. Where would you use the wallpaper? 🍎🍐

🌸

“The name ‘Windflowers’ is used to describe Japanese anemones. It is such an apt description. With their flowers at the top of long stems, they sway gently in the breeze like ballroom dancers. I wanted this wallpaper to express this feeling. The textured background conveys movement. Astors and Cosmos have been included to enjoy the gentle dance.” - Flora Roberts

Meet the Design: POSY
by .roberts at Hamilton Weston
💐

“There is something so joyful about flower posies. They are celebratory. The flowers in these posies are from the Spring & the early summer. There’s Ranunculus, Narcissus & Mutabilis rose. Painted from life, some of the petals moved quickly. The posies seem to float in the air with the unfurling raffia adding to the dreamy feeling. A trellis pattern has been created by the placement of the posies in repeat. This formation & the scale will work well in most rooms, with or without pictures & wall lights adding even more prettiness.” - Flora Roberts
