KELLY BROWN, an energetic personality with West Coast influences, started professionally practicing interior design in the southern California region in 2002. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego, Kelly launched her interior design career at a well-established model home firm in San Diego, CA. After garnering several distinguished awards

for interior design merchandising, Kelly landed a position with a prominent high-end residential designer in West Hollywood, CA. Here, she worked closely with residential clients as well as commercial clients; completing several bathroom remodels, a kitchen remodel and a garage conversion into a media room/guest house. She also designed a commercial project along the Wilshire Corridor in Los Angeles, CA. Having relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 2008, Kelly has brought her talent and West Coast vibes to the East Coast. Although she's not a native, her vibrant personality and unique sense of design will speak to those looking for something a little less traditional and a little more outside the box.

Kelly Brown Interiors headed to Orlando for KBIS researching emerging trends, new innovations, and the products shaping the future of kitchen and bath design.

We found wellness forward features like smart toilets, cold plunges, and in-home saunas; elevated functionality with workstation sinks and thoughtful cabinet organization; and fully flush appliances designed for seamless integration.

Hi friends!👋🏼 😄We are long overdue for this post (really any post for that matter!😅). So stoked to be published again in our favorite local shelter mag (pick up a copy on newsstands now!). So many thank yous to so many people for helping make this house a home (lots of blood, sweat, tears and laughs/hugs/high fives over the course of a year). I want to give special gratitude to a few folks: my dad who FLEW many, many miles to spend 5 grueling weeks getting dirty under my house, my best friend for MOVING here for 5 months and painstakingly chipped off ugly meringue ceilings and scraped paint off ALL the trim (TOTALLY worth it), Carroll Plumbing for ALWAYS showing up when I needed a helping hand or general construction guidance, Chris Chase who quietly put back the soulful bones of this home and made it look effortless and lastly (but really firstly), to my Badass superhero for kicking my ass into high gear to buy a house in the first place along with for getting super CREATIVE in order to stretch my financing through the use of 203k renovation and energy-efficiency loans and .rva for your real estate guidance. Without you three this project would have never come to fruition. Thank you, thank you, thank you for believing in me and my crazy vision.

And of course, I can’t forget the folks who made my house look 💯👌🏼for this spread... for the GORGEOUS 9 foot solid oak floating desk and laundry countertop (built and installed in record time), Debbie for the beautiful last minute custom pillows and linen laundry curtain, for the awesome photography, for the well-written article (aside from the crazy cat lady comment!😹), former RHome editor for scouting my house many moons ago as well as the new RHome editor Susan Morgan for seeing it all thru! It takes a village y’all!

Looking back at the fun weekend we had at ’s Craft + Design Fair and my signature post-install barrel chair high-kick celebration 😂 ’s editor Susan asked if I would collab with on their vignette for the show. Of course I said YES! And immediately made my way over to ’s brand new Chesterfield location where I scored those amazing Italian leather swivel chairs AND the HAND KNOTTED Persian rug👌🏼 AND all ! With the help of ’s gorgeous Dottie wallpaper, ’s fast printing service (of said wallpaper:), ’s stunning console and side table, Cathy G. Vaughn’s gorgeous candelabra, Kipely A. Meyer’s show-stopping wall piece along with ‘s custom pillows, Dianne ’s luxurious hand woven wool blanket & Wendy ’s last minute floor lamp addition - it all came together beautifully! SO. MUCH. TALENT!! y’all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!🙏🏼💕
