In partnership with Leipertz Construction, Cornerstone recently completed a multi-phase project to renovate the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. Highlighted today: Fitness.

Working in close collaboration with both the administration and fitness teams at the WJCC, Cornerstone transformed a variety of existing fitness areas into a cohesive collection of spaces that include both group and individual exercise areas, with a focus on exercise classroom environments and storage spaces for a variety of equipment. With needs for environment and sound varying on a class by class basis, our team focused on finding materials that could reduce impact, echo, and volume throughout.

In partnership with Leipertz Construction, Cornerstone recently completed a multi-phase project to renovate the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. Highlighted today: Preschool and Kids Place.

With preschool, after-school care, and summer camp all in one place, this portion of renovation to the WJCC was split into two phases with each focusing on a different wing of their child care and education programs. Our designers at Cornerstone worked with program leaders to design custom casework, display areas for artwork, and coordinate furniture for each room, while also targeting our goal of giving these spaces more storage. Custom fabricated wooden leaves and butterflies, by Carousel Signs & Designs, were installed in the Preschool hallways along with moss walls to accompany display boards. In Kid's Place, bright colors and custom decals, by Keith Fabry, were utilized to decorate classroom doors, giving each room a different color and associated fruit to make way finding easier for children!

In partnership with Leipertz Construction, Cornerstone recently completed a multi-phase project to renovate the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. Highlighted today: Administrative and Member Spaces.
In one of the phases, Cornerstone worked with the team at the WJCC to transform the existing lobby, administrative suite, and Preschool entry vestibule. The lobby was fitted with new central light fixtures and fresh finishes, allowing this space to shine both day and night. Our designers at Cornerstone also coordinated all new shelving, casework, interior finishes, and furniture to renovate the existing space. Restrooms adjacent to the lobby also received new finishes that carried the same natural stone tones as used in the lobby. At the exterior, our team enclosed the entry to the Preschool wing, utilizing the existing roof structure and pulling from surrounding materials to achieve a seamless integration of new into the existing facade.

After losing its roof and most of the second floor to a fire, Cornerstone helped restore a medical office building located on Patterson Ave. In addition to rebuilding what was lost in the fire, Cornerstone also worked with the client to update interior finishes and help coordinate new dental equipment with custom casework to meet the returning practices' needs. Thanks to New Ridge MEP, Dunbar Structural, and Loughridge GC in helping restore the building!

Located in one of the tenant spaces of a warehouse building Cornerstone previously designed, is the all-new SixFour3 girl's softball training facility. For this project, Cornerstone was tasked with creating a functional, architectural layout between the facilities main training room gym and batting and pitching cages. Cornerstone also helped in coordinating final finishes with the clients interior design team, together creating a brand new space for future softball all-stars!

Situated on the beautiful Swift Creek Reservoir is Bon Secours Swift Creek Family Medicine and blood draw clinic. For this project, Cornerstone was selected to design and deliver a complete interior infill and renovation to the new 7,500 sf space. Finishes were carefully selected to reflect the surrounding region and unique branding to expand the practice to serve the growing Chesterfield market. This project also makes more than 10 collaborations with this long-standing healthcare client!

Come check out our submission to the Henrico CASA "Home for Good" event at Short Pump Town Center opening today through April 26th! The last of the 6 restaurants we helped renovate for the 50th anniversary of King's Dominion was Victoria's Pizza. Returning to a project we had renovated a year prior, King's Dominion reached out to add a bar inside the rear of Victoria's Pizza plus to add an outdoor rooftop seating area behind the restaurant. Analyzing the roof structure, we were able to create a relaxing and inviting space that overlooked the water park as well as provided views of their nighttime fireworks show. Cornerstone collaborated with Covington Design Group, who completed the MEP drawings, and RVA Construction, Inc., who was the general contractor.

Another of the renovations we completed as part of the 50th anniversary of King's Dominion, Cornerstone collaborated with the park to renovate their funnel cake stand to a Biergarten. The area adjacent to the building was turned into a partially covered patio with a pergola and seating area to fit into the German theme. In addition to updating the exterior and interior finishes, the kitchen equipment and plumbing fixtures were replaced as well as the casework. Shout-out to our design and construction teams who helped complete the renovation prior to the park's 2025 opening day - Covington Design Group, Blue Nest Structural, and RVA Construction, Inc.! Prost!
