Detective Thackrey solved one of our vandalism cases while working on the much more serious investigations mentioned. We are very happy she is being recognized! Thank you, Detective!

The Richmond Police Department proudly recognizes Detective Amanda Thackrey-Toole as the Officer of the Second Quarter for 2026 for her outstanding investigative work and commitment to serving victims of violent crime. During the second quarter, Detective Thackrey-Toole successfully investigated several major cases, resulting in arrests, convictions, and justice for victims.

Among her accomplishments, Detective Thackrey-Toole led the investigation into the attempted abduction and r**e on the Cardinal Greenway, identifying the suspect and obtaining a confession that led to an arrest. She also investigated a felony battery involving an infant, resuliting in the offender's confession and arrest.

Detective Thackrey-Toole also played a key role in the Richmond Police Department's first successful Dealing Resulting in Death prosecution, helping secure a 40-year sentence for one defendant and a 20-year plea agreement for a co-conspirator. This case set an important precedent and demonstrated the department's commitment to holding drug dealers accountable for the loss of life.

Detective Thackrey-Toole's professionalism, determination, and dedication to victims make her highly deserving of recognition as the Richmond Police Department's Officer of the Second Quarter for 2026.

Plea to the community and neighborhood where our business resides:
Last night (Friday, July 17, 2026) 2 young boys approached our building at 9:07pm and proceeded to throw rocks at our windows. They did bust windows out and are on camera doing so. This is on South H and South 7th.
Please have a conversation with your kiddos and let them know that vandalizing a building is not ok.
